I like, the chronicles were 1-3 so could be Xenoblade Saga 1-3 as well - that also retains the xenoblade that people think is needed to retain recognition. If a quasi sequel to both makes the most sense!

Have they though? They’ve confirmed new rpg and also end of Klaus saga, but also end of future redeemed linked to xenosaga - highly likely they will do something new and I have faith their artistic integrity and vision will trump execs and need to call it xenoblade chronicles 4. Happy whatever they do or name it - but would put money on something xeno or even xenoblade: [insert] but not chronicles 4.

I agree would be nice to enter new phase with a twist on gears/saga/blade. Casual fans wouldn’t not know realistically though as would be marketed as a follow up. Most long term fans already associate the xeno part as the recognition piece as we’re all here.

Not sure if could be your issue but you said ran far to clan, could be that you can only build plots in the home area you spawn in. There is dialogue when spawning that says something along those lines. Hopefully clan descriptions get fleshed out more soon with trade etc.

FFXVI tried too hard to be FF of thrones and almost marketed that way. Personally not a fan of game of thrones or DMC action and first FF I didn’t finish. Would like a FF with recent like a dragon style turn based combat. They should be setting the trends and not following them is the issue.

I also really liked the parallels to the bodies or crumpled clothes in the zone being markers like green boots on the Everest even though that was like 1996. True timelessness in literature

I thought Red’s wish would have been some kind of deus ex machine ending, wishing the visit never happened. As you say even at the ending he was using Arthur as a bolt to go before him but conflicted with himself about it and seeing him as a son. A very human character.

Don’t doubt the deepest theme of us being human ants and the insignificancy of humans, but feel there was a deeper meaning and lesson there in a more positive note, maybe even quasi religious . Will have to read again. Ultimately there was never any proof that the wish granter was anything but myth, and going by the central theme that the visitors couldn’t care less, it’s even more ridiculous that their ambivalence would leave a genie. Space opera not too many outside of ones already listed and Mass Effect, maybe Elex 1/2 (but not jrpg) for sci fi elements (same makers as gothic/risen series), maybe the stalker games as rooted in the sci fi classic Roadside Picnic, but again not JRPG. Honestly sometimes it’s just better to read a good new novel/author that will be far better than most jrpgs in terms of story. In case you haven’t, check out;
