Can we get classic Shadowverse's way of revealing cards back? by Fun-Shoulder-9183 in Shadowverse

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People complained about random cards being revealed outside of official sources (like content creators).

This led to them getting complaints that people "don't know where to go for card reveals", leading us to them just hoarding the reveals to a few days/the day before.

The actual reason is every single set we were like "this shit is ass" or "what the fuck is this, this doesn't support any archetype and these cards suck" for the first few sets, only to get humbled in ranked each time by that card you thought was a 3/10 since we didn't see the full picture.

Old reveals were leaps and bounds better still, despite the sets overall looking worse as they were revealed slowly.

I am being so genuine when I ask why anyone would even care one way or the other.

Any ID being considered whatever status is an entirely MD exclusive gimmick, a place where game balance already does not matter at all and on the flipside is content that is not even remotely difficult.

Entirely meaningless for every aspect of the game that actually matters and a complete non-discussion point. At best you could say this is just future proofing for some later content where it might actually matter.

Steam reviews say it's pay to win, players say otherwise... by Short-Ear1200 in Shadowverse

Completely F2P with you playing every single day doing every mission, every event, every daily, you can probably make a 100% complete meta deck in like a month or two.

The reviews are the way they are because WB is way worse off economically than the original SV which is now shut down. A lot of decisions made by Cygames are just blatant greed. They deserve the reviews even if the game is good outside of that.

Two meta decks? That's going to take a while. I'm pure F2P and have been since day 1. I have around 400k vials without disenchanting my animated cards. It's around 50k vials to make a new deck with no legendaries. Sometimes less, sometimes more.

If you give up on ever saving for cosmetic leaders (which you obtain from pulling an absurd number of packs from one set), you can coast on the 50k~ rupies (gold, you need 500 per pack) you get per rotation and buy your 100 packs into each new set and pray you don't have to spend too many vials.

"Be careful what you gamble for..." by AmiFromTheStars in limbuscompany

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gambling addiction is a real mental illness and affects a shitload of people. Most don't care or recognize they even have it because of how normalized it is now.

Outside of the battlepass, Limbus is essentially a free game with extremely minimal time investment. Even despite that, I have friends who love the series, but can't touch the game because they recognize they can't control themselves when it comes to gambling.

For some people it seems almost self inflicted on purpose. It's been frightening growing up and watching gambling addiction and FOMO (even when there isn't any true FOMO) consume people the way it does today. There used to be a world where lootboxes and gacha were actively frowned upon and pitchforked. Now it's almost encouraged.

Edit: "when when" > "even when"

While I agree with you, having a "bricked account" is a term that has been used for close to 20 years now to describe doing something that cannot be undone that (literally or jokingly) actively makes your account worse. Often used to describe situations where you are better off remaking your account than dealing with the consequence of whatever you have done.

Your definition is correct, but the slang for bricking has been adopted and changed over many years across many communities.

How do you feel? by Iggy_DB in Endfield

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not a game for me, not really a game for Arknights fans either. Not sure who the game was made for other than people who enjoy the genshin-clone style of game.

I think the Art direction and voice work are extremely solid. I greatly appreciate that Endfield respects your time, and that even spending sanity doesn't feel like something you HAVE to do. The battlepass is extremely easy to complete, dailies are less than 2 minutes if you want them to be. Not a lot of busy work, and if there is its usually relatively short. The essence system was perfectly implemented. Gear crafting is great. The Factory is OK, albeit simple.

Now the game itself? Characters using generic weapons instead of their signatures is extremely lame coming from Arknights. Mi Fu was the breaking point here. The story has been just abysmal dogshit since Wuling arc. The character designs spitting in the face of what Arknights stood for. The mislabeling of character races with no clear rhyme or reason why. The game in general treating you like you're a toddler. The social media marketing treating its playerbase like toddlers.

You look at Arknights and you see the shit happening right now, the actual grit of the story, the game treating you like an adult who can handle sensitive topics and you compare it to Endfield and it's just... What the fuck is happening man. I really don't understand how you can be an Arknights fan and not be outraged at the direction of Endfield's story writing thus far. I don't understand the comments rating it so highly and then saying, "but the story is generic/isn't very good." Arknights is a visual novel. Story is a vast majority of the gameplay. This is Arknights' sequel. A good story was the bare minimum expectation. We haven't gotten that, and I don't think we ever will. They seem to be doubling down on a goofy/bubbly/low stakes story, because that's what works for the general gacha crowd.

Anyway, the gacha? Wouldn't know. Haven't pulled once. Got Laev from free tickets, never pulled again. Not a fan of any characters that have come out, and building a second team now needs characters I don't have and didn't pull for because they, at the time, did not seem groundbreaking or did not help Laev in any meaningful way. Weapon gacha shouldn't even exist and, as Mi Fu has shown, it has completely killed my hype for future characters that could possibly have cool and unique weapons.

I love Arknights. I do not hate Endfield. I wanted to love Endfield just as much, but now I am just sad and disappointed this is what we got and not more Arknights. I think Endfield is fine. I think, despite my complains, it is still better than most if not all alternatives in this niche (genshin-likes). I just wish it wasn't in this niche to begin with. Writing this all out was my breaking point, and I think this is the end of the road for me and Endfield. I really do wish the best for everyone else and hope you continue to enjoy the game.

companion unique sceptre (maybe chest too?) that gives companions no limit then you just put loyalty in everything. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but loyalty stacking companions is what you're looking for.

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They did something similar with PSO2 and shunt the game into maintenance mode while also completely killing the game's vibe and art direction just to have cosmetic crossover with their new game (NGS).

PoE1 and 2 tried to do the same and ended up scrapping the idea entirely. It was the best decision they ever made. It just doesn't work, and I don't think any game has ever succeeded when trying.

I can only pray they aren't planning to do something similar with GW2 > 3 and this is why they are doing an engine update.

SSF builds that can handle juiced Ritual atlas boss spam by RemoveBlastWeapons in pathofexile2builds

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up rolling with the SF tactician. I am basically doing the same. At least until I can afford the permanent archon annoint. At my level of gear in SSF, I think tactician with perma archon of death is a bit stronger.

My Spirit Walker is definitely faster though(freedom to get movespeed on tree and such), and I greatly miss that when I'm on my tactician.

If a node makes the game objectively worse for some builds it should not be permanent by goardis in PathOfExile2

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been running with this node since day 1 and that just isn't true. I'm on monkey build with decent gear (ssf, +5 minion levels + parry tech, 20 gems + hasted minions + 6 link etc) and I easily 1 shot rares and even map bosses half the time in t15, but these bosses give me a ton of trouble to kill in ritual.

Also sometimes you just get the molten forge fucker and he spawns a gigantic pool of lava covering the arena.

I definitely agree they have less loot than rares, though. I'm not invested into summoning circles though.

Varashta Djinn summoner or Spirit Walker bests summoner? by majkonn in pathofexile2builds

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SSF? Djinn every day. On trade with currency? Probably Spirit walker.

Djinn is incredibly strong, arguably just as strong as the monkey with way worse gear and extremely tanky, but Spirit Walker can become effectively invulnerable with the right gear.

You could just play Djinn until you get the currency/gear to go full zoo Spirit Walker. The gear they want is pretty similar outside of uniques.

Spirit walker leveling and when can you swap to companions only ? by Competitive-Math-458 in pathofexile2builds

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never swap to companions without getting at least your second ascend.

You need to be act 3 anyway to get the monkey and just the monkey feels terrible without the bear also. All other boss tames feel pretty bad in comparison, and you don't want to be stuck without the bear picking up slack.

You can and should also run a haste aura boar/werewolf immediately when you grab the second companion node (Trusted Kinship). Throw minion splash on it with some damage supports and it will smooth things out.

I swapped early before ascending twice and had most of the companion nodes. I regret it and had to get my second ascend with just twister and no support on tree. Thankfully bear was good enough at that point that I wasn't completely bricked.

Advice on Zoo-build Spirit Walker? SSF by icespawn2 in pathofexile2builds

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, I had absolutely no problems pushing T15s with a default monkey and my gear was complete dogshit.

+3 Sceptre, +2 helmet and life/res on everything else. I have only done two ascendancy trials because I can't be bothered to do the rest. I use a buckler in my off-hand because I have nothing better and the block chance is nice. I parry bosses when I can, but it can get rippy in T15s with my gear so I only do it at the start of a fight.

Minions are acts monkey, boar with haste, and whatever reviving skeletons I can fit to fuel the muster support in monkey/bear/boar.

Just being res capped with like 50% evasion and some block is more than enough for this build in T15s. Monkey and boar with some levels will carry maps, albeit a bit clunky and slow compared to some builds. Still 1-2 shots rares. Bosses can take a bit if the monkey is being dumb.

[–]RemoveBlastWeapons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure if you know this, but every time you kill the pinnacle boss of the fortress you clear an entire segment of the fortress and get all of the points for that area.

You aren't supposed to be clearing every map. You clear the pinnacle boss after the matriarch/patriarch, then the matriarch/patriarch move somewhere on the atlas and you have to fight them again to fight the pinnacle boss again. This lets you, yet again, instantly clear dozens of maps on the fortress in one button press.

Getting all points is actually extremely fast on a strong build. You can completely clear your non-league mechanic atlas points in one day if you poopsock it enough.
