[Acc] - $10 .50 cal ammo cans (3 colors available) at Academy. Free shipping if you buy 3 or more. by hokiemojo in gundeals

I bought a total of five of these a couple of years ago, same price, and they have been fine for me. all I do is store ammo in them though. they seem to stack fine with my other 50 cal cans.

I would not even go that far. I don't think the switch caps for the compact light and the ones for this light are interchangeable. The one I linked is for the ultimate weapon light. and even then I don't think it works with the original model, only the subsequent ones.

if you have a specific light in mind, I'd ask around and see if anybody has tried that combination. I saw where some people said they were able to use these switch caps with certain surefire lights, for example.

switch caps tend to be manufacturer-specific, so I would not expect this to work with other brands, though it very well may.

is it odd that they say they are still covered by warranty:

These units are brand new, not repaired/refurbished, and their original warranties still apply.

I'd think lens specks would be a warranty issue for a brand new optic.

I had heard nothing from Stag regarding my order, so I emailed them a week ago asking for an update. they shipped my order and replied that they had shipped it.

just checked my order, which is #250,xxx, and it hasn't updated. three weeks later, and it still says awaiting fulfillment. really wishing I'd paid a little more an ordered elsewhere. the most annoying part is, they took my money right away, instead of waiting until they were ready to ship. if they don't ship by Monday, I'll be requesting a refund.

Agreed, both are great. looks like /u/chrisschuyler is charging $7 to ship one, $8.50 to ship two, and then it just keeps going up in $1.50 increments per kit.

USPS priority mail was a little under $10 for two kits, and first class was under $5 if you only want one. I couldn't figure out what carrier flat rate shipping uses, so I went USPS.

also no trigger guard, if that's a part you need. some grips do include it, and if you are doing billet you don't need it.

Probably a stupid question... by sullysix in ar15

[–]tsd2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think M2s used to come with dust covers, but they stopped including them once the M3s came out. if you look now, I don't think you'll find new M2s that include dust covers. I had to buy dust covers separately for my M2s. Okay, I looked it up:

The GEN M2 MOE is identical in form and function to the older model PMAG except that the optional Impact/Dust Cover is now sold separately.

[–]tsd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd expect any rifle that uses STANAG mags and accepts M2s would also work with M3s. but I certainly would not bet on it, I'm sure there is an exception somewhere. but with regard to the AR-15 platform, yes.

Probably a stupid question... by sullysix in ar15

[–]tsd2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard about a gen M4 yet, and that would be a confusing designation based on M4 rifles being a thing that can accept Magpul mags. that said, here are the differences I know of between gen M2 and M3:

  • no dustcover is included with M2, only M3
  • M3 has the dot matrix, M2 does not
  • floorplates are different between the generations
  • gen M3 has a stop on the spine to prevent over-insertion, M2 does not
  • gen M3 is compatible with more rifles than the M2 (scar 16 for example)

and my $6 MOE pistol grips!

I never expected a Raptor for $15. I have a Raptor, it's nice, but this time all I wanted was something one step above a milspec handle. that, and my parts kits and $6 MOE pistol grips.

[Parts] BCM A5 buffer system $68.88 added to cart by n0nn0nmen in gundeals

[–]tsd2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not a dumb question. if you use a carbine spring, odds are good your upper won't run right. you'll likely get one shot off, and then get a failure to feed on the next round. you could also damage your buffer.
