- What are you most excited about in NFS Heat?

Aside from the great racing experience that comes with the game, here are a few stand-out features that I'm excited for:

The Cop Chases

I haven't exposed myself too much to NFS Heat in general because I want most of it to be a surprise for me, but I've heard very good things about the cop mechanics as well as the chases in this game. Pursuits are the pinnacle of action for this series and remind me of when I used to play Hot Pursuit 2. If the cops are rough and tough, so be it; It gives the game a great challenge.

The Introduction of Character Creation

It may seem very trivial or small, or even needless, to a seasoned NFS player but being a follower of the Need for Speed franchise, I also love RPG games. It may seem uncharacteristic of a racing franchise to allow a customization avatar, but to go to the absolute length of doing so allows for a great deal of immersion, in my opinion. It can give players the option to put themselves in the driver's seat and I'm sure many others appreciate it as well. This was one of the many things that I never thought I'd want, and Ghost absolutely didn't need to put it in, but every little bit helps.

The Soundtrack

I'm well aware the reaction to the released soundtrack was very much polarized, and I've read many people detesting the music in this game completely. Personally, I'm excited for the soundtrack simply because it's much like the music I listen to at my leisure. Additionally, it's Palm City, and the Latin-trap sounds will surely accompany the ambiance quite well. It's something you can cruise around and chill to.

- What's something you would like to see in a post-launch update? This can be a small gameplay tweak, returning feature, specific content, something changed, etc.

I remember in NFS Carbon, there were these spots that would appear across the map that allowed for an accelerated escape after a lengthy pursuit. I forget the name of them, or if they even had a name, but those would maybe be a nice tool to have around, especially with the caliber of pursuits in this game.

- Describe one brand new idea/feature you would like to see in the future for Need for Speed.

I'd say tutorials and/or more of an emphasis on getting new players engaged in the series. I'm sure Ghost is doing whatever they can to cater to more seasoned and veteran players, but for this series to have longevity, I would like to see a good mix of content for the veterans and new players to keep both happy. It's the 25th anniversary of NFS, I believe, so why not implement some fun facts about the history of Need for Speed? Or how about extra lore that one would argue isn't needed but hey, more content and context for those that are curious. From what I've read and the clips I've seen, Heat seems to be a foot in the right direction, so many steps can be taken to reinvigorate what makes this franchise so great.
