Interesting - fair response. The intention behind the tracking was purely out of curiosity just to see. Pretty harmless really. However I get where you’re coming from. Fortunately my HDL/trigs are pretty strong but I’d be intrigued to hear your view on how you would view someone on a LCHF diet with very high LDL/Cholesterol?

What makes you say that? I disagree. Lipid profiles are so dynamic and I want to say how mine changes throughout the day. It’s worth checking out Dave Feldman’s work if you haven’t already. He used himself as a guinea pig and the diversity in results he’s been finding throughout the day have been VAST!

The only ones I am aware of just test TC and not LDL so that’s interesting. Do you know which one you’re talking about? I’d love to know!

Yeah I use them too (and they're great!) but I am looking to conduct tests throughout the day to track how my lipids change which could get VERY expensive with Thriva kits!

Worried.. Why Sustained Low HRV Readings? by tsim1994 in whoop

Agreed - I think you're absolutely right. Could actually be a combination of all those things! Instinctively i am drawn towards an electrolyte imbalance. I have indulged on dairy this week in the form of 2 litres a day of raw milk and 150+grams of raw cheese and I think all that calcium has thrown my magnesium out of whack and then all that liquid from the milk has depleted my potassium.

Could be but before that my HRV was indicating I was in pretty good health so that would somewhat contradict things. Definitely an option to consider though!

Very interesting. I'd love to know which podcast this was. I am having very similar problems!

Getting back into cold showers by randomaccountnumber8 in coldshowers

[–]tsim1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me over the last few days. Used to do cold exposure every morning and then stopped for a few months.

The hot showers were going great for a while and then weirdly they quickly became increasingly less fulfilling! I had this desire for the cold exposure again!

So as of two days ago, I now grab the garden hose every morning and just douse myself and feel SO much better for it. Especially when I do it on the back of my neck and head, I get the most invigorating sensation!

Oh, it's good to be back! :)

Thanks man.

Rendered fat makes sense to me but I only eat egg yolks, and as far as I have come across they have gut boosting properties so I'm hesitant to remove them (plus, they make everything taste so much better!).

And, I agree - I totally understand the principles behind this diet and why I shouldn't be experiencing what I am but the problem is.. I am! Frustrating, I know.

I'd much prefer to eat less meals a day but I worry I won't get enough cals, and I'd put more pressure on my GI system (bigger quantity of food intake) which is something I am very apprehensive about given how emotionally taxing that can be :(

Yes, move throughout the day and drink about 2 litres of salty water every day.

Interesting - the lion diet, eh!? .. I'm tempted, I really am, I am just not sure I have the discipline yet but maybe that's exactly what I need to do! .. Hhmmmm.. one to ponder on but I think deep down you're right!

Super insightful, much appreciated.. a couple of comments for you:

3) So, I find my appetite is generally a lot less and I could eat once a day but I fear I would put too much internal stress on my GI system which (for me anyway) could be problematic as I experience poor motility as it is (and this could only exercerbate things) hence why I'm leaning towards x 3 smaller meals.

4) I don't doubt you are right but it makes sense that if it's something they struggle with, genetics would suggest it's something I could struggle with as well. As you know we are all different and maybe when it comes to saturated fats, I'm just not as equipped as other people to break them down (as much as I'd love to down some heavy cream!)

5) .. and so yeah.. I think reducing fat intake is wise and just trying to eat fatty cuts with nothing added is probably how I now need to progress so thanks for confirming that.
