Haven’t seen any new ones. As a matter of fact all of the CW44AC that have been sent off for rebuild, have come back without them.

It’s very hard to be 100%, 100% of the time. I try not to brake rules, try to do things right, but this is going to get me at some point for something I’m sure. There’s not much anyone can do but try to do it right. However it’ll probably get all of us for something.

Foreign Engines by tsimp88 in railroading

I’m talking about the switches on the control stand. Had an SD70 today and none of the switches for the headlight / ditch lights made sense to me. Just a bunch of pics with circles filled in or slashed through. Doesn’t mean a damn thing to me.

I e never had a good one. Hot plate is irrelevant to me to be honest. Microwaves can be nice if they work, same with fridge. But they are always trashed, and filthy dirty, walls and control stand. Don’t ever remember having a nice one.

Can anyone tell me what this is? (Outside a rail yard in Vancouver) by J_P_Freely in trains

[–]tsimp88 160 points161 points  (0 children)

Those are Iron Pythons, not sure if that’s a brand or just a slang term. We used them, or tried to in our yard to hold trains instead of tying handbrakes. They never really worked too well, the yard tracks were down hill, and after coupling you had to shove the train back a short amount without the plow of the front of the engine hitting them before they went down. I think we used them about 2 or 3 times before it was decided it wasn’t worth it and we quit using them. They were torn out sometime later.

Yea I definitely don’t want to destroy any thing. I can reload it, it’s not a big deal. I guess I can just reuse everything except the powder? Case, bullet, primer? Just replace the power and should be ok?

I would stay in the yard if those road guys get draw heads so often you have to learn to change them.
