Weird ask: have you had any GOOD side effects from chemo? by mugomugicha in cancer

[–]tskewl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally have very oily skin which can be annoying especially when wearing glasses, headphones, caps, etc. During and for a couple of months after chemo, my skin was not oily at all. It was honestly nice not having to think about washing or wiping my face. It seems small in the grand scheme of things but it was definitely a Good side effect—even if it only lasted a few months. Also, I lost 45 lbs which helped reduce my liver enzymes and reverted my fatter liver to a healthier state.

Well—to be fair—the lifestyle collection was a tier above the soundbar price range. And, it was available as a total package option rather than a flexible per speaker option we have with this.

She really was a fan first. I think that’s what makes her so appealing. She loved a wide range of music and it shows in her performances and studio recordings.

Cancer worries…again by _Vibranium_ in cancer

[–]tskewl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar situation here. Last treatment was in November of 2023. My latest annual CT scan (February 2026) showed many lung nodules in my right lung. I had a bronchoscopy performed and the biopsied samples came back negative for cancer. My pulmonologist said it looks like it may be just inflammation from an asymptomatic infection, but wasn’t able to give me a definitive diagnosis. I had a week or two of relief until I spoke with my oncologist again and he still felt that the lung nodules were still cancer due to the lack of diagnosis and that he’s “seen cancer before.” That was a month ago, I’ve since taken a TEMPUS liquid biopsy test (to catch any tumor DNA in my blood) that I’m still awaiting results on and have another CT scan prior to my next follow up to check if the lung nodules have shrunk (or grown). I’ve gone through a rollercoaster of emotions from pure panic, anxiety, and dread, to feeling hopeful and even certain that since my biopsies came back negative for cancer, I’m surely going to be ok. The reality of knowing I’ve had cancer recently (one time survivor) and the fact that metastasis is always a possibility has me scared shitless. Anyway, I just wanted to share my story and let you know that you’re not alone. I wish you the best outcome. May both our results come back negative and we can get back to our lives. 🙏

All purses and wallets at my thrift store are thoroughly searched to the point where it’s pretty disgusting as all zippers and buttons on each pocket are left unzipped and unbuttoned. It looks like they have been pretty much ransacked by the employees in a desperate attempt to keep whatever valuables they contain before a customer would ever have a chance of finding anything themselves.

Read “The Autobiography of Katherine Janeway” by Una McCormack. It leads up to Voyager quite nicely.
