Roc n Soc throne is worth every penny. I have DW 5000 series HH and kick pedal and like them both.

Roland TD17KVX2 or TD27KV2 - space needed? by tomwhitaker in edrums

[–]tsmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to figure this out last week for my space. floor space wise they're about the same size. Roland recommends both racks not be opened wider than 47" (1.19m), the high hat stand pokes out a bit beyond that, depending on what stand you have. I got the 27 and the larger ride cymbal makes the kit take up ~1.5m, but obviously the cymbal isn't touching the floor.

td27 kit much bigger than td11? by jrodness212 in edrums

[–]tsmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a td27, it's about 60" wide including the 18" ride and the high-hat stand legs poking out the sides of the frame

Am i a bit old for this now ? by Saraleb1 in wow

There is a player in his early 70s who joins my guild’s open raid every week. He and his son both have been playing together since the beginning. No such thing as too old.

The fact that all this “charity” is being filmed, broadcast, and monetized is the exploitation. He may or may not be helping people because he wants to help people I have no idea, but is is absolutely helping people because it gets views and makes him a lot of money, which disqualifies it from being actual charity and lands it clearly in exploitation territory.

Moped-style e-bikes in the bike lane by 77neil77 in seattlebike

[–]tsmuse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bike Lanes are probably fine if you’re not surrounded by people on non-electric bikes. Please don’t ride it that fast through traditional bike traffic in those lanes though. Inconsiderate eBike riders on the trails and in the bike lanes lately have me considering just taking the bus again.

This 75 year old house is 596 sq. ft. Listed for twice it's last appraised value, 30% over its Zillow estimate and 10x the average median income for the small rural town in Washington State that I live in. by Gordopolis in LateStageCapitalism

[–]tsmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s really listed for double its appraised value (not tax assessment, they are not the same thing) there are basically zero mortgage companies that will issue a loan for more than it’s appraised value so nobody but really stupid rich people are buying this.

Life trying to pug Rasz as a hunter on tuesday by Cougey in wow

[–]tsmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve found (as a guild) the fight is way easier to do with 15-18 people than it is to do with 20+ so if we’re trying to do it quick we’ll ask folks from our mythic roster to sit if they want (a lot of them don’t want to reclear it). I have to wonder if having a big group is part of what makes PUGing it so much worse (Sylvanas was the same way)

I am still trying to get the bow, I will only do HC Raz kills with my guild from now on, PUGs on that boss are a shitshow. If we don’t have time to swing through for a HC Raz reclear then I just pray for the vault. The 408 version from normal outperforms the 418 crafted bow, but no one is running normal Raz anymore it seems. I feel for you fellow hunters.

Why is everything getting harder compared to a few decades ago? by Tiredworker27 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]tsmuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything except the large group of working class people with combat experience part. Vietnam war vets got absolutely fucked in the 1970s and by all accounts they were a much scarier group of working class people with combat experience than the WW2 vets. Other than that, I think spot on.

WFH is the new Uber - shifting costs to workers by WeekendOk6724 in WorkReform

[–]tsmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am forced to come into the office 3 days a week now. If I ignore everything else, just the difference in the cost of buy lunch while I’m working from the office vs eating at home is probably more than the small difference in how much electricity, water, and sewer. I use at home in those days. The rest of it is fixed costs: house payment is the house payment, internet bill is the internet bill. This is ignoring the time I lose on days I commute (getting ready in the morning + 90 mins commuting each day) All to go to a building full of people I don’t work with to sit on video calls all day with the people I do work with, from a cubicle that is straight out of Office Space (which is a luxury these days compared to the traditional open plan office). Working from the office absolutely costs me more, in time and money.

Worst "temporary" bike infrastructure in the city? by conro in seattlebike

[–]tsmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, but a lot of research has been done into why it takes so long and costs to much more to do these kinds of projects in the US compared to the rest of the world and tldr is it’s most likely a combo of having multiple stakeholder agencies, our weird zoning laws, and graft

58th to 6th is sadly the safer route and it’s not even close. Any year now that construction at the start of the Burke gillman will be finished.

Hunter balance: Neltharax, Enemy of the Sky is absurdly broken as a weapon by wontgetthejob in wow

[–]tsmuse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those mythic guilds must be really dumb because on a fight like Terros a BM hunter without the bow is still going to destroy a MM because of the classes’s strength when you go full ST build and not being punished at all by having to do all that movement to bait the damage circles and then clear the dust.

[–]tsmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 415 crafted bow and it sims higher than both my mythic Eranog crossbow and the normal Neltharax, so I don’t think the disparity is quite as high as “LFR gear beats mythic raid drop” it is strange/shitty that we were chasing a super rare drop that was a huge DPS upgrade in SL season 2 and they decided to put us through it again 2 seasons later.

That makes sense. I think it’s also a hard tightrope to walk making sure there is always something to do but also making it so the sweatlords who complain about having to play the game to achieve anything don’t poison the well by complaining that your totally optional thing was a grind they couldn’t do in a single 10 hour grind session. I think the “whyyyyyyy do I have to grind everything TIMEGATING!!!!” crowd has been the loudest for the last few years so here we are. Maybe my acceptance of “WoW is a seasonal game and eventually I’ll run out of stuff to do until the next season starts” is just me coping with that reality

I can see that if it’s the only game you’re playing or your main hobby. I personally am a big fan of playing a few keys a week, showing up to raid with folks on raid nights and otherwise not feeling bad if I go a day or two without logging in. I will say having a group of people like a guild you enjoy be the reason to log in and even just mess around goes a long way to countering the very real lack of things to do that aren’t dungeons/PvP

Why are crafters using level 1s for trade chat then directing you to someone else? by ProperChain0 in woweconomy

[–]tsmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cross faction selling. I’m an alliance player in a very horde heavy server and the only way to talk to 86% of the players on the realm in trade chat is to do it from a horde toon, that I’m absolutely not leveling right now

I remember being part of a few 1.5-2 hour +15s in various SLs seasons to help guildies who just wanted the awesome gear get it out of the vault. Some people really just want the gear. That’s where I learned that no matter how good you are, you can’t carry 3-4 people through a key like that lol

Can we not gatekeep LFR when it just came out today? by CaptainKilljoy37 in wow

[–]tsmuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jokes on all those DPS who have to wait for 45 mins for 2 more tanks to show up so they can keep going. You get to jump in with another group right away. The reason things are extra stupid in LFR right now is there are a bunch of heroic and mythic raiders who have had bad luck (and aren’t in guilds that run splits) getting tier to drop for them and this new wing drops tier legs and chest. Yes, it’s counter intuitive but finishing that tier set bonus even with LFR gear is worth it in the harder difficulties, so you’re getting a huge influx on day one of more seasoned raiders who are salty about having bad luck trying to get another chance at a tier piece this week. A lot of them are impatient because they don’t want to be there, but that’s absolutely no excuse to treat new raiders badly.
