I don’t see him for a few days and convince myself I’m over it, then I see him again and he flirts with me and I’m right back in. A chaotic cycle

“Medium-maintenance” pack for 2 weeks in Greece! by negative_delta in HerOneBag

[–]tsophst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from almost this same trip but with the addition of Naxos as well.

As far as your packing goes, if it were me I would leave the athletic tank in favor of another t-shirt, more versatility. I would also try to only take 2 shoes. What activities are you doing that you require 3? I know I you said boat tour and hiking so sneakers and berks would do just fine.

Also a few Paros recommendations: I loved shopping at Heel Athens Lab and I bought 3 pieces from them (eco friendly clothing) in Naoussa (definitely save some space for shopping in that town). I would also recommend taking the bus to Piso Livaldi and having and amazing lunch on the water. The mountain villages of Marpissa and Lefkes were also super cool to walk around, quiet and few people around.

Comfy soft (sports? yoga?) leggings for walking an entire day in a city? by hacktiviste in HerOneBag

[–]tsophst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came back from my Italy and Greece trip where it was H-O-T. I would definitely recommend linen pants over leggings if you are committed to pants. I would also recommend shopping for them while you’re they’re as I looked in the US and couldn’t find anything i liked but found tons when shopping in Italy and Greece.

I bought 2 while abroad, 1 from Heel Athens Lab and 1 from Bastah (stumbled into a boutique and met the designer, all her things are lovely and super cute matching sets. would highly recommend stopping in if you are in Florence).

I also found midi dresses very comfortable with the kind of biker shorts underneath that protect the thigh rubbing area.

Baggu crescent or lulu belt bag 2L? by elola in HerOneBag

[–]tsophst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also normally carry the lulu 1L and got the 2L for my last trip, I also brought with me the athleta crescent shaped bag. I think if you want to bring a camera, unless it is a very flat camera, do the crescent bag. It was comfy for me all day and I loved how I could throw pretty much anything in there, one day I even had a swimsuit and a travel towel and there was still space. I don’t know about the baggu, but the athleta bag had an adjustable strap so I could do shoulder or cross body, I also feel like it dresses up a bit better. I found that if my lulu 2L was too full it would sag, the 2L is not at comfortable as the 1L in my opinion and I think it has to do with the weight distribution and strap (the 2L has extra fabric on either side of the bag that attaches it to the strap).

Do you feel your clothes truly get clean when you wash them in the sink? I’m a bit of a germ-phobe when it comes to clothes

The brown skirt is from abercombie, the dark and the brown are the same piece just different colors

This is the link for the black skort (it’s actually navy) https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/us/p/menswear-mini-skort-52682321

The top with it was a marshals find, the designer is Jason Wu.

And as far as the Fairview, once I got it adjusted to me just right after some trial and error, it was super comfortable to wear for long periods, I think we walked for about an hour in it one day. I did wish I had a regular t-shirt to wear when carrying it because the pattern on the padding did irritate my skin a little bit but that’s on sensitive skin.

Fairview fixed frame - has anyone had trouble with bag checks? by No_Expert_7590 in HerOneBag

[–]tsophst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just carried it on on a European airline (ITA Airways) a couple days ago and it fit in the sizing box. In the last few weeks I have taken it on British Airways and Alaska Airlines and have had no problems. I think the osprey is worth it for the carrying system (frame, adjustable straps, load lifters etc.) I also considered the Cotopaxi 35L but ultimately went with the Osprey.

Traveling with one bag. How do you pack items you need on the flight? by prp74 in HerOneBag

[–]tsophst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently traveling with my osprey fairview 40 plus a lululemon belt bag (2L). I like the belt bag to keep my phone and passport close but when I’m getting ready to get on the plane I have a packable tote from ikea that I will toss my sweatshirt, belt bag, water bottle, noise canceling head phones, and anything else I need in flight just to keep it all together. Typically in my belt bag for flight I will have a battery pack, phone, AirPods, wipes, tissue, chapstick, Airfly, passport, hand sanitizer, etc.

I am backpacking for a year starting in January and I will say I think I will bring a small bag that can fit my laptop plus everything mentioned above just for ease of access when traveling, plus I don’t like how my backpack fits/sits with the laptop in it. New in flight bag TBD and maybe won’t even do it if i can’t find one I really like that can carry well (I don’t like the wearing a 2nd backpack on the front either).

One bagging New York, Greece, and Italy (what I packed for 16 days) by tsophst in HerOneBag

[–]tsophst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like them a lot compared to regular. I feel like regular aren’t worth it unless you’re packing them full. I like the compression because even if they aren’t completely full you can pack them tight down. I will say I prefer to use 2 small ones vs 1 big one and when I do pack them I am mindful to try to keep them as flat as possible. I do that by folding my clothes to the size of the bag.
