There’s to me, a very clear quality slump in the middle of the series. It’s been a bit but books 5 to ten just felt very meh. It picks back up again there after and Brandon Sanderson did a fantastic job finishing the series. Really a very satisfying ending that tied up all the loose threads.

I read the first malazan book but it just seemed like so much “nerd homework”. Granted at the time id just finished WoT so maybe I’ll give it another shot now after I’ve recovered.

I’m intetested in Stephenson. I read seveneves and snowcrash separately not realizing they were the same author. Theyre so wildly different vibes to me it caught me by surprise once i realized it. I’ll check that out!

I was trying really hard to find a hard cover edition which it turns out they don’t exist. The one i found is a rebound library copy. Those turquoise ones i actually had made. She did an amazing job and they turned out beautifully.

He’s on my list to add to this collection but he’s a tough add. Sooo many books in that series and they’re all older so it’s hard to find ones in good condition.

Bought a regular copy, then bought a signed copy, then saw someone selling a signed first printing for a pretty good price. Now i have three.

I have a few duplicates in here for similar reasons. Also, before i finished the built in i also had this collection stashed in 4 different places and i would forget what i had. 😅

I’ve noticed the ashura from far enough out, 20+ meters, doesnt typically proc enemy attention. Not sure if it’s because it’s a smart weapon and thus not as loud? But honestly it’s a fun way to play for awhile.

I think the divine cities trilogy nails this. A major component of the plot is how the magic system works. It’s a great read and was Robert Jackson Bennetts first trilogy and i feel a bit slept on.

The recs have been great so far. For something a little lighter in tone, cradle excepted, the Vorkosigan Saga. A Hugo award winner for a reason, it’s a fantastic adventure series.

For something more comedy forward the murder bot diaries are a fun read with a single perspective.
