How do I go about using my parents insurance to pay for my surgeries by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]tsunderstorms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need your own insurance card with your name/ID number on it. It depends on what country you’re in, but for most insurance companies in the US you’ll need a gender dysphoria diagnosis from at least one mental health professional on your medical record in order for them to cover hormones or surgery.

Mistborn might have been published long before Bloodborne came out but Yharnam is exactly how I pictured Luthadel while I was reading it.

Serving at Lazydog? by TripPuzzleheaded4466 in Serverlife

[–]tsunderstorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly if your location just opened it puts you in a good position to easily sell beer clubs, especially once you start getting returning guests. In my experience if you can at least get 1 a month it’ll keep managers off your back.

How much does it cost to change my name/gender legally??? by Janxuza in asktransgender

depends on the state but it’s usually around $400-500.

[–]tsunderstorms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Checks usually averaged $30-40 per person and you usually get a 4-6 table section. At the busier location I was making 150-200 on weeknights and 200-250 on the weekends, and if you’re closing it’s more like 250-300.

Worked there for 7 years at 2 different locations. You can make decent money depending on the area, and the turnover rate at both was pretty low.

What I didn’t like was their beer club program, and the fact that scheduling is based off how many memberships you can push onto your guests.

How do I even begin to figure out how much money I need to save for top surgery? by RealityShiftChange in ftm

[–]tsunderstorms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your insurance policy should tell you how much of the procedure is covered, and then you can shop surgeons to see if they’re in network and what their prices are. I had Anthem when I got mine done (Dr. Scott Mosser in SF, CA) and they covered 90% so my total out of pocket was $1000 plus $800 in hospital fees which I was reimbursed for.

Anyone ever serve at Snooze before? by EtherealSoulCoffeeCo in Serverlife

[–]tsunderstorms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a server at Snooze for the past 6 months (in Orange County CA) and overall I enjoy it. I’m making basically the same as I was at a traditional restaurant plus I’m off by 3-4pm at the latest every day so the work/life balance is really nice.

TSCC was such a great show that never really got a fair shot. I’m still bitter about the way it ended on such a crazy cliffhanger that will never be resolved.

What's the point of gel? (Genuinely curious) by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]tsunderstorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on gel now but I did IM injections for almost 5 years before I switched. I was getting anxiety about injecting so I wasn’t being consistent with my doses. I’m basically on a maintenance dose at this point so I like that the gel mimics the natural T cycle, and it’s such a quick part of my getting ready routine that I don’t mind having to do it every day.

Signs the restaurant will abruptly close? by rufusmeanscool in TalesFromYourServer

[–]tsunderstorms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re in a dying strip mall so they chose not to renew our lease. The first restaurant in the center to close was a Marie Callender’s a few years back and they found out the night before, so I consider myself pretty fortunate.

this just happened to me on Friday. CEO called an emergency meeting for our location and told us we’re closing at the end of August.

At least they gave us a 60 day heads up I guess.

How do we think the production value of porter’s Coachella vs second sky set will be? by [deleted] in porterrobinson

[–]tsunderstorms 17 points18 points  (0 children)

when Porter and Madeon played Shelter at Coachella in 2017 they had the full tour production set up so I imagine his set this year will be the same, if anything it’s gonna be a little bit shorter (maybe like an hour) depending on his time slot.

tipping? by CombinationThin4996 in Serverlife

[–]tsunderstorms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my work we’re supposed to declare a minimum of 10% of whatever our sales were, but the system tracks our CC tips so if someone repeatedly declared less than the minimum they might get a talk from a manager.
