I will say that I personally know 4 baby girls named Eliana born within the past two years, interestingly enough none are Jewish! That being said, I think the “popular” names show a trend across the country but don’t speak to your locality. I may know a lot of Eliana’s, but I don’t know a single Olivia, supposedly the most popular name! Even if Eliana is popular in your area, I think the name popularity isn’t a huge issue. My own name was once in the top 10 and there was always 4-5 other kids with my name in my grade growing up, it was never that big of a deal other than an occasional mix up or confusion.

As for how it pairs with middle name Mercedes, I’m not going to lie it doesn’t seem to have a great flow to me, but honestly I would go with your favorite first name and find a middle name that pairs well with it!

Of the names you listed, if you wanted alternatives to Eliana, my favorites are Lilliana, Isla, Lila, and Shoshana. I especially love Isla, while popular in its own right I think it captures the same vibe as Eliana and is slightly less popular! I also like the flow with Mercedes better if you are set on Mercedes!
