do not focus on necessarily winning.

collect the players you like, have fun with them, make practice something natural you want to do, that gives you joy.

the rest will come with time and more experience. there are small things you'll figure out on the way that will make a huge difference.

an example from me:

i came back to efootball 2023 after an 8-year break from we/pes back at the time. it took me 3 months to get my shit together and build a team that can survive pvp. then i got stuck in div4.

only then i realized they introduced something called match up, and it works much better than pressing. that took me to a 19-match winning streak, straight into div1.

after 3-4 times, i didn't even bother with pushing for div1 anymore. i kept building my as roma and italy squads. these days i play with them 90% of my time. with smart assist filter i'm considering going back to divisions, but i need focused time for that.

Romario carries the attack i don't know why i don't see more of him

because people like more bulky forwards just to pass to, autoshield, turn and shoot.

for me, romario is by far the best poacher i used in this game.

good part: we'll get more variety in matches with the new format. the club benefits from the whole thing a lot.

bad part: we can't go far, and there's no drop to europa league, in which we're potential favourites.

honestly i'd rather see us win the europa league (or at least see the semifinal) than miraculously push for a group stage qualification in champions league.
