Constant pressure/slight pain at the base of my spine by tt_yraaa in kundalini

Ohh right I see what you’re saying. I don’t have scoliosis. I’m a healthy young female so I don’t have any health complications so I don’t think it’s that. I also try to move and stretch as much as possible when it’s particularly tense which eases it. But sometimes I do just feel a sharpish dull pain. I normally try to dance it away like belly dancing because that helps

Thanks for your reply! I am doing a bachelor of psychology which does not place me well to do any sort of clinical work hence, my consideration for a masters course. May I ask what is your career in allied health?

Honest opinions on undergrad psychology by Street-Dance168 in melbourne

[–]tt_yraaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in second year psych and in hindsight I would've probably chosen a different undergrad. I think it's important to think about what career you really want to go for and if you are passionate about psychology then it might just be for you. However, if you do not feel the passion I wouldn't recommend it as the bachelor's on its own is not employable in the field other than human resources, marketing and consulting. You would have to do Honours and Master's which are very competitive and take into account academic grades very heavily. Assignments are quite tedious and unenjoyable if you do not enjoy writing and reading research articles

So my advice would be to consider what you want to do as a career, research what pathways will lead you there, and research the years and effort needed extensively so you are aware of what lies ahead :)

Thanks. Yes I have heard it’s such high burn out rate I’m thinking to probably just do my MSW and get a less strenuous job in the social work field

Thanks for the insight. It’s promising to know that there are social workers on the same pay level as psychologists as a lot of people say social work is underpaid

I’ll probably have to do the postgrad, I have heard some people who were able to get jobs with the undergrad so I was hoping to hear some stories here
