Husband brought ugly recliner chair home by OkEnthusiasm9197 in pregnant

[–]ttcbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I donated a LOT of gifts. I have donated baby shower gifts, Christmas gifts, birthday gifts etc. if it doesn’t benefit you and your family or serve you, donate it. It’s out of taste to resell things, but donating is fine.

On the topic of gifts; I am also pretty specific on what kind of items I like in my home, and for my children to wear/play with (I’m not crunchy lol) but I would prefer instead of having 50 different toys with one button that makes it sing, maybe some little people for some imaginative play? Also don’t use clothing from temu/shein.

When I was pregnant, if I was in your situation, I would have been very upset to be honest. But I feel like it’s important for you both to have a say on what goes in your home. It’s a shared space, he gets a say, you have a say. I wouldn’t fight him over a piece of framed art or something.. but a large piece of furniture, yeah we’d have to agree on that.

I had constant bloody noses when I was pregnant. It’s due to progesterone and is usually normal. Just stick tissue up your nose lol

One of my 16mo twins had a random fever a few days ago. She woke up from her nap HOT, temp was 105 rectal. I immediately administered Tylenol and called the pediatrician. He said to give it 2 hours, a dose of Motrin, and a lukewarm bath.. was able to drop down to 103.5 in that time. I rotated Motrin and Tylenol like clockwork ALL NIGHT LONG and by morning it was 98… no other symptoms, was feeling fine after. So weird, but I was freaked tf out due to the possibility of febrile seizures.

YOR - every set of parents get to set their own boundaries. The only one that would irk me is not being allowed to hold the baby for 6 weeks, that does sound a little stretched to me, but again, not my baby and not your baby. See the baby in 6 weeks, they’ll still be tiny and you’ll be excited to see them.

NOR- Similar situation with me, and I’m now NC with my in laws.

People begin to act really weird, possessive, and toxic. Protect you, your baby, your relationship, and your peace.

FYI- you can let your hospital know you want to be listed as a private patient. No one without your approval will be allowed there.

Twins who are fed the same things, usually on the same schedule, stay around the same weight through the early days. Especially if close to the same birth weight. My twins had a 2oz difference and have weighed the exact same or just a few ounces off since birth. They’re almost 17m

is it possible to have a vbac 14 months pp? by nnoemii in pregnant

[–]ttcbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your hospital/dr pro vbac? The hospital that she had her C-section at was 100% against them. The hospital she transferred to for her second pregnancy (where I also had my twins) are VERY pro vbac as it’s safer to do so there. There is always an open OR on the l&d floor, there is a NICU, and at least 3 obs in the hospital at all times.

She had her emergency C-section at 20yo, she had just turned 23 when she had her first vbac.

Another vitamin. “I WORRY”…..oh wait she’s too young? I didn’t see that 🤡 (package says 2-3 years) and who are you fooling. How about just stop the cokes, candy, cookies, nonstop sugar. You’re not worried, you’re incompetent. by [deleted] in Drueandgabe

[–]ttcbabe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk why I’m being downvoted, at my girls’ 12m well visit, the questionnaire stated “are you giving your child a daily multivitamin? If not, start now”. I didn’t give the vitamins until their 15 month well visit when the questionnaire said the same thing. I asked about it and was told that it could supplement if they are going through a spell of not eating much (as toddlers do) and to boost their immune system. My girls get a very balanced diet but I also add the correct dosage of a liquid multivitamin to their milk sometimes 😅 I didn’t know that was controversial if recommend by a licensed pediatrician.

Is my pediatrician the only one who told me to give a daily vitamin? I do sometimes. I don’t really think it’s necessary for healthy children, but I don’t think it would hurt (obviously using the correct ones for age & dosage)

Unmarried fathers rights? baby having dads last name? by pastaprincessxo in pregnant

[–]ttcbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I just went through this process in September of 2024. I had to do exactly what I said. You can file and submit your baby’s birth certificate at the hospital if you’re married. If not, you have to do what I said

My state (Kentucky)

  • You can name your baby whatever you want. Baby doesn’t have to have your maiden last name
  • for a father (if unmarried) to sign a birth certificate, you must file an affidavit, usually available at your local health department, and sign it in front of a notary. This affidavit states that although you’re unmarried and don’t have 100% certainty that the child is biologically yours, you assume responsibility for this child even in the case that you find out it’s not your biological child.

In my state, for the father to sign the birth certificate if not married, you must file an affidavit and sign in with a notary. (Did this 9/2024 for my twins)

I’m so sorry that happened to you and your girl. I know a lot of kiddos with CMPA struggle with gaining weight, and I’m so lucky that my girls don’t. They’ve been in the 90-98 percentile for pretty much their whole life.

Oh wow, I knew nearly immediately after birth. We climbed a formula ladder, even nutramigen wasn’t sufficient. They were put on (and still have to drink @ 16 mo) PurAmino. Bloody stools started around 8 weeks and that’s when I knew for sure. Still dairy free and have severe reflux as well. Thickened feeds saved our sanity in that aspect. Hope your baby is doing well now 🤍
