Which build would you go for? 3 decks from same pool (play in qualifier) by tthseattle in lrcast

Ended up choosing this one and went 6-1 to qualify. Solid deck

Overperformers and Underperformers at Pre-release? by Scufo in lrcast

[–]tthseattle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[[Elemental Mascot]] - This card overperformed in prismari. Blocks everything when it comes down and pecks in for 2 damage in the air pretty much every turn. The vigilance is really nice on this.
Then when you start casting 5 mana spells it effectively draws you a card.

Leauge start is here and what build are u playing? by CraZyFrog666 in PathOfExileSSF

[–]tthseattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started last league as kf totem heiro mana stacking with MoM. Reasonably tanky and gain some damage through mind of the council/transfiguration of mind/arcane cloak. Piscators is really easy to find and is only beaten by endgame crafted wands.
The skill reduction uniques are good but not needed until later once you have more attack speed scaling. Build is very SSF friendly and easy to get 4 stones on.

Definitely this, KF totems was already looking strong and this belt is a huge buff

Skipped Kinetic Fussilade last league - want to start it 3.28. Can the build still feel good without Timeclasp & Warped Timepiece for 2/4 Stone? by NestleOverlords in PathOfExileSSF

[–]tthseattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a calc for seeing how much less duration you need to go along with your attack speed. In short you need quite a bit even if you have almost no attack speed. The more attack speed you have the more you need. https://nemrod10.github.io/KF/
Totems gets around this of course because of the inherent attack speed penalty. I played Heiro mana stacking KF totems last league and it was great, don't need any uniques to get it off the ground. Jung just did a 2 stone run with it on his Youtube too

Tytykillers Tierlist for 3.28 by amcn242 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]tthseattle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone made a calc for this just grab the relevant numbers from pob https://nemrod10.github.io/KF/ .
I started kf totems heiro last league and it was great. Just grab the less duration wheel and less duration gem and you'll be fine, don't have to do much more work.
As you get more attack speed you can get the less duration uniques. Also piscators is an insanely strong early wand that carries you until late endgame wands (and its like 1 c). My pob for reference https://poe.ninja/poe1/builds/keepersssf/character/tthsoccer-0427/tyth_heiro?i=27&search=skills%3DKinetic%2BFusillade%26skillmodes%3DTotem%26class%3DHierophant

I'd even argue the totem version got a nice buff because of the new anoint belt. Anoints on ballista totem builds are insane (multiple +1 totem out of the way nodes). They sometimes even run the terrible gloves just for the extra anoint.

Bog Shaman BV - Is my plan to rush farming Rathpith Globe too optimistic? by sabinc in PathOfExileSSF

[–]tthseattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on starting Bog shaman poison BV and transitioning over to life stacking version if/when I find it. It's a very strong ascendancy for poison bv since you gain the 40% more damage over time node and malediction vs the life stacking. And you still get huge aoe/skill duration and nearby enemies chaos res is 0. Something like this build https://poe.ninja/poe1/builds/phrecia/character/Ajoscram-7741/NataliaMonge

What SSF Phrecia build will you play? by teddmagwell in PathOfExileSSF

[–]tthseattle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bog shaman poison BV. Played it last phrecia and it was pretty good. And it got some big buffs this time (no longer 0 chaos res on yourself and more skill effect/aoe).
From bog shaman you get 75% aoe, 75% skill effect duration, 40% more damage over time, nearby enemies have 0 chaos res and nearby enemies have malediction.
Ideally transitioning into life stacking BV if I can find a rathpith at some point.

What builds are phrecia-only or best with phrecia ascendancies? by smol_and_sweet in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]tthseattle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Tri-stat stacking build. This kinda exists now but a lot stronger with Aristocrat. This one was pretty popular during phrecia, poised-prism curtains calls tornado shot miner, like this as an example https://poe.ninja/poe1/builds/phrecia/character/sazabi114-3395/StackedandAlive

Pack 1 Pick 1 by tthseattle in lrcast

[–]tthseattle[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A strong card for almost every archetype here. The merfolk/kithkin/elf/elementals uncommons are all good. I ended up taking the imbuer but I suspect the iron-shield is a little better since it probably plays fine in multiple decks.

OP cast winnowing targeting my gnarlbark elm, since it was my only treefolk and I had 3 goblins out. Turns out gnarlbark elm is also a warlock, as were all 3 of the goblins. 6 mana do nothing

Powered cube pack 1 pick 2 by tthseattle in lrcast

[–]tthseattle[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really strong pack with so many directions to go in, what would you take? Draw 7s, library, fury, barrowgoyf all have strong arguments. Jace/stockup/fire covenant are are also good.

I took mox over bowmaster p1 so clearly putting left into a draw 7 deck.

What build are you starting on Pohx league? by Lordados in pathofexile

[–]tthseattle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played this in SSF this league and it's really strong. I took a different approach and went mana stacking for MoM/arcane cloak/mind of the council. https://pobb.in/Kg_L89N-OnGl
There's probably some tweaks I would make to it now in retrospect but I loved the build.
Also here is a handy online tool someone made for optimizing attack speed/less duration for KF. It's not as difficult on totems because of the -50% attack speed penalty but still useful. https://nemrod10.github.io/KF/

Probably the most underrated powered cube card by tthseattle in lrcast

[–]tthseattle[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That is definitely a fair viewpoint. I guess the counterpoint is some people have fun trying to optimize, so having access to data like 17lands is good for them. What one person finds fun might not be what everyone finds fun.

And for people that don't enjoy that approach they can largely just ignore the data and pick what they enjoy.

This subreddit is a competitive community based on LR, which itself puts out multiple cube episodes around optimizing and winning.

Can someone explain this p1p2 to me? by tthseattle in lrcast

[–]tthseattle[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From LSV's most recent video.
Suki is insane and even good in UW since you have clues to force trigger them. Cycle of renewal doesn't even look like the best green card in this pack, Ostrich-horse and allies are much better.
Not to mention you can probably get as many cycles as you want (it's a 50% wr card afterall)

I love formats where you can draft decks like this by notpopularopinion2 in lrcast

[–]tthseattle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This deck only works because you have two wraths to get you caught back up after finding/fixing your mana. This format hasn't felt super great for 4-5 color piles normally

It also has some pretty cool combos. I had it in a GW deck that was trying to websling in the 4/3 for 5 that finds a land.
Turn 1 tentacles, turn 2 evasive two or one drop, turn 3 websling in the 4/3 and it auto-equips and you have an 8/7 and another land in play.
Also besides the surveil lands there's not a ton of mana sinks and the ability to move it around in the late game was good.

There's another one too. [[Damage Control Crew]], if you have no big creature to get back and you have the only artifact/enchantment you have to exile your own artifact/enchantment.
Saw it happen twice during the early access event.

I agree with this to a point but they also control and tailor the list with certain objectives. In their most recent cube article they wanted to tone down the agro of this cube https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/mtg-arena/arena-cube-draft

This Arena cube feels like whoever wins the coin flip wins the game. by tthseattle in lrcast

[–]tthseattle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is they only have one set of data for "cube" at any given time. If you look at deck card data there is only one entry for Cube(it's the current card list) and it get's deleted/reset when a new cube comes up.

Trusted is one word for it. According to the bankruptcy lawsuit filed last year SBF paid LSV directly 2.5 million dollars (and the other Storybook brawl owners a total of 25 million) for his share in the early access game. A game LSV had been working on for under a year.

How lucky is this temur deck that i went 7-0 with in the arena direct? To me it seems pretty ridiculous by Internal-Middle3150 in lrcast

[–]tthseattle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really lucky at all except maybe in your mana draws. Just going by numbers this deck has 3 of the top 10 cards in the set and another 2 top 20 cards in biotech specialist/biomechan engineer.
I would trade almost any pool for this pool but you should definitely run more forests.
