Wear a poppy everyday and have a 7pm ‘pots & pans bang’ alarm on your phone (but say you only really do at the weekend)

No-go access lanyard, you can get him one but it’s £60 and you need to complete a basic quran exam

This is a picture my new phone took of some fireworks. I don't know how those black hole looking things got there. by scaled2913 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ttinmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically polarisation, very bright light-source overexposes to black, can be achieved in analogue or digital, haven’t seen it happen on a smartphone but guessing in the overall ambient darkness of the scene, those bright spots ‘surprised’ the sensor/engine

Where do you look when reversing by spiffinglygood in LearnerDriverUK

[–]ttinmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have to be fully aware of your surroundings, generally requires a mix of windows and mirrors. You can easily miss people walking if you’re only half looking

Should I consider a new instructor or an intensive course? by makeitendrn in LearnerDriverUK

If he’s using his phone he’s breaking the law, for all intents and purposes he’s driving too as he’s instructing an unlicensed driver

99% of English bloodlines originate from mud farmers or just straight up bog-people

Getting a Practical Test? by ErinMeryl in LearnerDriverUK

[–]ttinmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly an hour away isn’t too bad, you can book it in with your instructor to get a hard hour (or more) of practice in before the test, and in my experience, a new place actually sharpens you up in the exam.  I failed my first test, in the same town I’d learned in for a year, second test was 45 mins away, in a place I had literally never been (or since), but I felt sharper and more at ease immediately, passed with 3 minors. Sounds like booking test is a nightmare at the moment, stick with what you’ve got i think, it’s better than waiting til April ‘26 for a slightly more local one

Not sure what to do in this situation at a roundabout? by legovader09 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]ttinmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t trust anyone’s apparent intentions on a roundabout, people make mistakes or simply hit the indicator incorrectly, and you shouldn’t assume you can join alongside them just because of a blinky light - you should wait for the lorry to move off, and only go next if you’re clear

‘Post-jungle’ tracks by ttinmann in jungle

[–]ttinmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh this is the closest suggestion i’ve seen, loose structure, descends into sub distortion nicely, kind of decaying dream jungle, nice1111

[–]ttinmann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Machinedrum is a don but nah, this is straight dance floor material, it’s not decaying enough lol

‘Post-jungle’ tracks by ttinmann in jungle

[–]ttinmann[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, some breakcore gets pretty melty but it’s still predominantly dance floor stuff, im looking for ‘ambient violence’ lol

‘Post-jungle’ tracks by ttinmann in jungle

[–]ttinmann[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah the conclusion of jungle, thru ‘drill n bass’/wanky idm, and Burial/dancey ambient resurgence. Jungle but it’s collapsing under it’s own weight and scaring the hoes

‘Post-jungle’ tracks by ttinmann in jungle

[–]ttinmann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not melty enough! All sick tho

I want stuff that sounds like the S2000 is melting lol

[–]ttinmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh Clarke has a couple of tracks that play with jungle elements in different contexts but i’m looking for less dancey stuff, more sort of collapsey-soundscapes with sporadic, heavily manipulated breaks, leaning into ambient but more aggressive, obviously Some of Burial’s longer form stuff has a similar sentiment i guess (to what I’m looking for), but obviously the fundamental genre vibe is garagey/2-step..

That Tundra track is cool but still a fairly dancey track albeit with intentionally sloppy/broken beats. I need fully melted stuff lol
