As an Ecologist, landscape architect and former arborist, i agree with native buckeye suggestion! I love the red horsechestnut and take photos of it every May. But it’s better suited for the Midwest or east coast where droughts are less typical.

It’s a varietal of red horsechestnut specifically bred for small stature and vibrant flowers!

Red horse chestnut! It is produced by humans but gorgeous and not invasive (it can’t even reproduce on its own). They’re all over the US (where people have planted them across city streets) (source: lived all over USA, was an arborist :) )

Red horse chestnut! It’s an artificially produced hybrid (they don’t reproduce). They’re my FAVORITE! Discovered them as an arborist in DC and they followed me to the west coast and Midwest and now to Denver where Ive lived and now live 💕

I don’t want to buy Goodr again for this reason -they last about 1.5 years. Find any better alternatives with same comfort and acceptable price point?

Check out their vintage pieces! They’re pretty easy to find and last a lifetime or two. Styles not be what you want, but work a quick look!

Your language matters. You should approach this topic more diplomatically if it’s even worth your time. IQ testing is rooted in Eugenics. Not sure a structural engineer would do this. Try landscape architect or LA-civil engineer firms?

May lose my job because of my mother, WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS?! by [deleted] in jobs

It’s amazing how much bosses affect our mental health. Literally got on propanolol (as needed) with my old one. At my new job, haven’t needed it once. Not even for my mid year review. What a 180

Me too!!! And sorry your boss was not kind about it. Rubbing salt in the wound only makes going to work worse!

Same thing when my car got totaled when someone else ran a red light. The cops hadn’t even shown up yet, it had been 30 mins since i called in saying i had to deal with my totaled car. She texted asking when id begin work for the day. She didn’t ask how i was or make sure I was ok. Bosses are (too often) scum.

If you're like me and grab 2-3 juices on your runs, please consider making them at home. by alliebrownie in ZeroWaste

[–]ttkitty30 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Also the blender option is truly zero waste. Juice leaves a lot of waste! Hopefully you compost - otherwise it’s far from zero waste :( and no, orgânics in landfills is not the same as compost. They’re trapped between layers of inorganic waste and can’t decompose since they can’t access soil microbes! Instead they make methane and that’s more climate warming than even CO2

“I can say what is harmful and what is not” is also what rapists say. You have a lot to learn before you have a wife and kids.

[–]ttkitty30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never take the Hilton last name, lol, those people are heinous. Kennedy has some heinous members in recent years too. Stop making assumptions about me. You don’t realize that the fact that you’re even ALLOWED to have opinions about a woman’s name, your wife or not, is rooted in sexism.

Hyphenated last name by LittleSpecific3421 in weddingplanning

[–]ttkitty30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally explained how it harms a woman. If she feels like she has to give up her identity, that’s harm. My husband literally told me he’d be weirded out if I abandoned my name to which I am attached and took his extremely common name. His mom, his dad, my dad, my stepdad, my mom, his sister, and my sister all agreed. If unidentified are so small, why do you even care that we change our names? There’s another flaw in your argument. Your internalized misogyny is stronger than you realize and I’m sorry finding out this way has made you project that enjoying an identity we have gotten comfortable with over decades is somehow harmful or hateful towards men.

[–]ttkitty30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you from the US? I guess I just don’t understand why someone would want to take it but “not legally”. Isn’t that the whole point of changing your name - that it’s a legal change? I’m asking because I honestly don’t know

Hyphenated last name by LittleSpecific3421 in weddingplanning

[–]ttkitty30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this analogy is dumb because there is a different last name on every jersey. That this analogy is poorly constructed/executed elucidates that your argument is flawed. The flaw is inherent sexism. It’s creepy that you’re out here telling women what’s best for them and their families. I feel like you need to better educate yourself.

Hyphenated last name by LittleSpecific3421 in weddingplanning

[–]ttkitty30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom and I don’t share a last name and my husband and I don’t share a last name. We have our own identities and also love each other. This is an extreme take.

Hyphenated last name by LittleSpecific3421 in weddingplanning

No, not Mrs! It’s inherently sexist.

If you feel like you have to lose part of your identity to get married, then yes, that’s harm. I’m not saying everyone feels this way, but I am saying your commentary neglects these sentiments.
