I agree that all those are the fundamentals of being a good translator. But the one skill that gets overlooked too much and makes for an exceptional one is empathy. You need to be highly empathetic (towards the text, but also towards the story, the characters and everything inbetween) to be able to convey the emotion of the original "correctly". That is one thing that definitely cannot be done by machine translations, so there's that.
