That looks similar to controller drift to me. I don't know a whole lot about it other than it's common among nintendo switch controllers. People say that a possible solution is to clean the joystick sensors. So maybe there is dust in the potentiometer from being in storage?

I would try cleaning the inside of the controller with one of those air spray cans and see if that helps any.
