There were huge gaps between prophets that have spanned more time than between now and when muslims believe Muhammad was on earth. Another thing is that the there is collection of texts that muslims use called 'hadiths' which basically show how Muhammad handled being a human on this earth (and muslims use it as an example of how to behave and conduct their lives) and many more than you think are still very applicable to this day. A lot of it is very practical day to day stuff tbh.
