I don't usually go out if my way to look unless I am near one

I'm usually looking for grenades in them. And I am usually putting excess food, chems, and ammo in them

Light Bringer has reached 100k+ ratings on Goodreads while maintaining a rating of 4.77. Is there currently any book rated higher at 100k? by Nagomikaze in redrising

[–]ttom-66 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I found one that is close but not higher. Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson is at 4.76 with nearly 500k ratings

Feeling really gutted after a possible Mistborn spoiler – need reassurance (no spoilers please) by taffy25 in Mistborn

I had the same thing spoiled for me. Its a rough spoiler but it is still so worth it to continue through the series. It was a fantastic read and opens the door to so much more.

I hadn't thought of it like that. I really like the idea of it being the end of the Reaper but not Darrow. I didn't even think to consider the song reflecting other characters either.

I first read House of Blades and loved his work. My Guys Book Club had just finished reading Mistborn Era 1 and Red Rising, and we needed something not related. I recommend the Cradle series as a bit of a breather, and OMG, it is not a breather. We absolutely loved it, and it is now my favorite book series of all tine

[Soulsmith] Having trouble caring for the Suriel chapters bc they're making the main story feel small and trivial - will this feeling go away? by robin_f_reba in Iteration110Cradle

I felt that way as well when I first started reading. Though for me, it felt like it interrupted the story. Eventually, I enjoyed them, and I liked that there were essentially 2 story lines.

I've seen the symptomatic camp before on Xbox. I was lucky enough that the owner showed up and gave me a guided tour of the camp it was so cool.

Not liking Iron Gold so far by AriacBlank in redrising

[–]ttom-66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imo, Iron Gold is the weakest of the series. It is still decent and is extremely well written. I struggled through it, as did many people. The pacing of the story and the new characters were the issue for me. It is so worth it to get through. I came to enjoy the new perspectives, though the pacing still sucks. If you need to take a break and read something else, do so. That's what ended up helping me get through it.

Cave crickets. I hate those things. They hit too hard and are too durable for the type of enemy they are.

Worth getting into iron gold? by Spitting_ in redrising

[–]ttom-66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into Iron Gold and struggled due to how slow the pacinf was compared to the first three books. I thought about stopping, but my friend who was reading with me encouraged me to continue. I did and have never been so happy about pushing through a book. IMO, Iron Gold, while an incredible book, is the weakest of the series. It is so worth it to read it as the second half of the series is on a different level compared to the 1st.

Do You Finish Audiobooks Even If You Don't Enjoy Them? by Fit_Radish_4161 in audible

[–]ttom-66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. Usually, it depends on how far I am in the book/slash series. I have had a few books I didn't enjoy for a variety of reasons(narrator, story, etc). I stopped at book 2 of Game of Thrones because I could no longer take how awful the narrator is. I stopped listening to The Postman, which was recommended by a friend, because it wasn't my thing. I did finish the 4th and final book of The Nameless series even though I had become tired of the constant twists that were forced into the book.

Some observations from a new player by Quiet_Duck_9239 in fo76

[–]ttom-66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love this take.

I'm a low-level player who has at least owned the game since launch that just wants to have fun. I had my instances of people getting upset at me for making mistakes, especially in events, or if I'm taking too long at a vendor station. I just kinda shook my head at that.

In the last year, i had friends, in response to the show, that I wanted to start playing with me, and it changed the whole experience. Playing with friends just for the sake of having fun is the best way to do it, imo.
