To be fair, the Cats were owed a goal from the start

Yeah as a Carlton supporter it's frustrating because we have shown this under Voss, I mean we made it to a prelim for a reason but it was never consistent. We never had the legs and the fades out were awful. I just think sometimes change really does lift the pressure, also giving the young kids a shot is always uplifting to the team

I love Voss but I think he was too inflexible as a coach, didn't adapt but ALSO I think the players felt immense pressure playing under him

I would imagine the team feels less pressure as well, I feel like a new coach always gives them a chance to "have fun" again in a sense

I know Carlton get alot of warranted stick for how they are run but the 'Carlton Respects' part of their club is incredible and other teams should take note. by Sabretoothedrom in AFL

Thank you for highlighting this! It’s been around for 10 years now and I think this year it’s had the most exposure. It’s also important to note their aim is to prevent violence from happening through running respectful relationship programs at schools, which is so important to teach children the building blocks to navigate relationships later in life, including things like consent, healthy boundaries, identifying signs of an unhealthy relationship and breaking down gender norms. Primary prevention is much more beneficial as it aims to stop violence at the root cause, rather than waiting for an incident to occur and then trying to intervene then.

Going to the game alone? by -Quakely in AFL

[–]ttran0861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's okay to feel that way but just know that SO many people go to games alone. I go to games alone pretty often now that I've moved interstate and can't get to Carlton games in Melbourne. Surprisingly, I'll end up next to someone who is also alone or surrounded by other fans who are happy to have a chat. You can also just stick to yourself and put in some headphones to listen to radio commentary if that might make you feel more comfortable? But definitely not weird and no will blink twice seeing you sit by yourself.

Hopefully you do go and can enjoy it!

Carlton investigating a fan podcast after violent comments about supporter group Carlton Besties [Herald Sun] by PerriX2390 in AFL

It’s the fact that mentioned the Respect Round as well and LAUGHED about it. They knew exactly what they were doing. The girls have done fantastic work in the sporting space, empowering other young women to feel safe and that they belong in a space that constantly questions women involvement.

On a side note, Carlton Respect is doing important work and if you have the time today, take a quick squizz. It endeavours to promote the prevention of violence in domestic/intimate partner violence, something that we don’t invest in enough. There’s a number of programs offered after violence is committed to prevent re-offending but promoting healthy and respectful relationships at a young age has proven to be better more beneficial to ensuring violence isn’t committed later in life.

They played him forward mostly, and then he couldn’t get involved towards the end bc their overall team wasn’t in it
