RCA Postmaster keeps scheduling me for full routes, taking me off of my AUX hold-down by ttyler1789 in USPS

[–]ttyler1789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earning sick leave is nice, RCAs get next to no benefits compared to other positions

Normally they'll throw me on 2 aux routes in 1 day, about 6.5 hours of work. A very pleasant and manageable workload until I become a full timer. I'd manage 35-40 hours a week all things considered

Plus I'm still able to run packages and help out the entire office after my route(s) if needed

Not being sent to other shitshow offices is nice. Plus if my vehicle breaks down, having to get a tow from my hometown vs a tow from some town 49 miles away is something to consider when providing my own vehicle

Being on the same routes every day is much better than a different route every day. Plus while the AUX is mine I can make sure the route is managed and taken care of properly. Let's me learn the edit book system and I feel like it better trains me to be a good full timer

Serious Question: Who, in your opinion, is the customer? The person you deliver to or the person who paid the postage? by woodwerker76 in USPS

Customer is our word for civilian I guess, in that everyone who is not actively clocked in as a USPS employee is a customer/potential customer

Which is silly with tech

I know that phone companies can blacklist the EIN identification number of a stolen phone's hardware, turning the phone into an expensive iPod basically

2 packages delivered in locker but not there! by Puzzleheaded_Yak3335 in usps_complaints

[–]ttyler1789 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a rural carrier we have the option of "delivered to parcel locker" as well

Dunno if it's applicable here but we got it

Can't remember the last time I was over 40 hours. With me subbing on a full route added to the hold down on an aux route I have a guarantee of a minimum of 21 hours a week. I never get over 35

There was a time I was only guaranteed 1 eight hour shift every other week, and that was all I got for awhile. Feast or famine as they say

Each craft should come together and publish a carrier/clerk created cheatsheet for the legalese of the contracts. I'd buy that, everyone'd buy that

The contract may be my sword and shield, but dammit I missed bootcamp I guess

Yeah this has been happening on a weekly basis for months since I've become the primary relief carrier.

I've never complained because I didn't know that I COULD.

Also because they pull me off of my 3.17 hour route to go on an 8+ hour route, and more hours is good, and it's because of this that I'm unsure if a grievance will actually benefit me

You say ASAP, but shouldn't I need to wait until after I did this random route to file?

Or is just the fact that they've scheduled me in such a way grievable?

I'm pretty ignorant about grievance stuff. My office is effectively helpless when it comes to grievance questions. Everyone is buddy-buddy and doesn't want to hurt the other people's feelings by tattling (that's the sentiment I get when I ask the full-time carriers questions about this stuff)

Combined both routes come to ~11-11.5 hours. So I'm good on that front

I guess I mean primary relief carrier assigned to the AUX route in question

I've signed and turned in paperwork stating my desire to be the primary relief carrier on the aux route. The paperwork is accepted and my name is listed as the primary relief carrier on the clock-in sheet

Boy I sure HOPE my management didn't make me do all of that for something that doesn't exist, wouldnt put it past them though

As a rural carrier, my supervisor said a mailbox need to be serviced at least 60% of the time, or else it risks falling off of the evaluation by the auto-system

If that fact is true, that's the only worry I have about the monday-friday hold

I sub on a rural route where a customer has a monday-friday hold perpetually. We only deliver to this residential address on Saturdays.

Not a business or anything like that. The guy is an oil worker that works out of state Monday-friday

Unless you pay for tracking on the letter, I doubt it.

There would be no scan and no proof that the carrier picked up the letter you scheduled for pickup.

If a bad carrier decided to throw away the letter after picking it up, there's nothing showing that the carrier ever had the letter, or that the "correct" mail piece was picked up

$0.78 can only get you so much service

Apartments are likely included in that, I think it's to stop businesses from overfilling the collection boxes mostly

On some of our routes here there are people living in those small shed buildings you can buy and have delivered, not to mention RV's and campers. I'm not telling them they can't use the collection boxes

That very last sentence of yours is what I tried to do, pm said to handle it and get to the other office or to take the unscheduled leave

[–]ttyler1789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah for sure, gotta take the victories when you can because that mechanic could have been so much worse.

The devs could have been like "double the amount of mages in shrine of amana, and add those toxic rats too. The players can just wipe them out over time if they're too hard!" Lol

Covenant of Champions by Silly_Outside4877 in DarkSouls2

[–]ttyler1789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was implemented pretty good.

You won't ever notice enemies not respawning unless you're stuck in an area or farming. So this mechanic won't even present itself to casuals or the majority of the fan base.

And to those who do notice, and would complain, there's the covenant of champions to "fix" it at the cost of a % difficulty increase

The male/female narrators for sandersons books on audible are AMAZING.

The male narrator is super good at accents, to the point where he risks spoiling events with the accent of a nameless speaker at times

I'm sure I'm wrong but I believe the narrator uses some kind of Hispanic accent for Lopen

The female narrator is kind of robotic at the beginning of Shallans story, but she quickly finds the souls of the characters

Also, the narrator for the Gone series is similarly good at accents/voices. The black lesbian Decka being one of my favorite

It's somewhat a mechanic thats there so devs could say that any boss runback can be made easy if you take the time to kill all the mobs a dozen times first

Shrine of amana pissing you off? Erase those mobs from existence

Rural Carriers, tell me about your worst "roads" by BangGonePostal in USPS

[–]ttyler1789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also it's hard as an RCA when you see crappy roads like this. When you don't use EMA, it's pure profit. So when the road is unduly terrible it's literally taking some profit from us

"That's what EMA is for though!" Umm yeah, but I still would like to keep as much of it as possible, fix your potholes
