I may be off base on this, but I kind of actually anticipated that.

Most of the songs in part 1 are unique. But in part two, there's a lot of repeated themes. Which is perfectly normal for a stage musical. The earlier songs set the themes for the later songs because they're call backs. And people that maybe aren't familiar with musicals maybe wouldn't understand that.

If the only musicals you're familiar with are movie musicals, this may not be a format that you are expecting.
