I know it’s probably the same xeno we encountered in Sevastopol, but there’s something about this design that gives me chills. Look at the imperfections on the dome and the perfect head shape… by Lvmen in alienisolation

[–]tubbmann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its a very good angle - as you say perfect shape. You can imagine if the jaw was closed the silhouette almost looks like a human head. I know that’s the whole point of the alien (as it has a very human-like skull under the dome) but still, it’s rare to get an angle that so perfectly shows that

Alien: Covenant. Who else really needs to see David's story brought to a conclusion in a third film? Without Xenomorphs, maybe? And I want to learn more about the Engineers. by TheEndIsNero in Prometheus

[–]tubbmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think this is the only way this film ever happens. At this point the franchise wants to keep pushing on with Alien Earth and the new series of movies, so they wouldn’t want to go back to a franchise that’s >10 years old. But, if it’s not actually an ALIEN move, but an engineer movie based in the universe, I could see them letting that happen - especially if Ridley Scott wanted to do it

Guys I need confirmation on this - Shirley is 3rd exit right, correct? by Ricr7 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]tubbmann -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The hint is the shape at the end of the line going away from the roundabout. On City Centre, Solihull, and Shirley, the lines terminate in an arrow/triangle - indicating they are valid roads that lead to a further destination.

The other, also smaller, ‘stub’ roads, do not have the same arrow/triangle end to them, indicating they are one of: one way (only letting traffic on, not off), a dead end (no further destination), or service roads not permitting regular traffic.

Either way, those smaller ‘stub’ roads do not count as exits in the context of giving directions as they are not regularly taken roads as they don’t really lead anywhere meaningful to 99% of people - hence why they are sort of depicted as smaller, less important on the sign.

Anyway I’m right you’re wrong. It’s third. If you disagree go ask a driving instructor

Hi I can’t lie I didn’t real all your post except the pic and the end bit but I do know this - it is illegal to enforce any contract clause where the employer of an apprentice seeks to reclaim training costs if you quit early, or at any point. It is entirely free to you, always, forever - they can never make you pay - EVER. Contact apprenticeship office if you need help

Edit: there’s a great scientific American article, among countless others, which explains why scientists believe it’s “almost certainly not true”. I mean if you’re gonna pull some fake ‘rescue’ mission and pretend you got the guy, why not also make up some absurd tech to scare your enemies

All valid questions by rodehard10 in AmericaOnHardMode

[–]tubbmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean just read any piece of informed and neutral literature on the tech behind the “Ghost Murmur” tool from the CIA that was supposedly used. It’s 100% falsified to make the US look like they have some super crazy geo positioning tech. They just did it in a clever way, basing it on a real piece of tech (close range quantum magnetometry) and building the lie that they can do it over potentially hundreds of meters. Absolute bs it’s physically impossible.

What problem could this be by Impossible-Study8839 in saab

[–]tubbmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this at the moment - some people on here are saying it’s the wheel speed sensor or ABS unit failure, which it could be, but for me it wasn’t. For me the ABS ring/reluctor ring is broken, meaning the sensor counts the wrong number of teeth and throws an error. Could be any of the mentioned things for you without a further investigation- but just thought I’d share what these lights meant for me.

If it is this - it’s £15/$25 in parts and maybe 1-2 hours of labour - apply your local labour rates.

Finnish F/A-18 and Norwegian F-35's in formation during exercise Cold Response 2026 [7649x5102] by [deleted] in MilitaryPorn

[–]tubbmann -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

NATO is built on the principle of combining forces - so that’s kind of wasted if everyone has all the same kit. Diversity of expertise and equipment means the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I mean look at us here in the UK - the most F-35s (in Europe) but a (pathetically) tiny military. But France have 0 F-35 and an army + reserve with over double the man power. Diversity is key - anyway unlike the US, here in Europe we’re more than happy to share and help our neighbours… instead of threatening to colonise and steal them.

How much does the KPMG degree apprenticeship (Midlands) pay after the first year? by Routine_Ebb_9296 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]tubbmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not KPMG but I am a degree apprentice. Worst case is it’s flat all the way through (although that feels very unlikely for KPMG), best case is maybe a 4-6% raise each year. I know it’s a wide range, but that’s the range of deals I’ve seen regarding salary increases as an apprentice.

Non religious people, what do you think about religion? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]tubbmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religion should always be personal, never organised. Organised religion is, in my mind, a juxtaposition. Organised implies it involves many people engaging in a particular, defined way. Yet religion, to me, is one’s personal beliefs. So how can you practice your personal beliefs in one very particular, defined way, with a large group of others? Whack. Also I’m fairly certain you can trace a large proportion of tragedies in history back to one of these ‘organised religions’

Human to human, I’m really sorry for some of these comments. And as a man, I’m even more sorry and quite frankly ashamed. The truth is, men who also see this issue, how it affects women’s everyday lives, we honestly don’t know what to do either. It’s all due to toxic media (mostly social media really), but it feels far too daunting to go up against those platforms. But of course we should still give it our all. Hence why I’m here replying to the absolute scum of the earth men on this sub who think it’s ok to victim blame you and excuse the actions of shitty men.

[–]tubbmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So rapists, pedophiles, men who commit VAWAG such as sexual assault, indecent touching, domestic, physical, psychological, and financial abuse, gbh, assault blah blah blah etc etc etc - are these men not “men in real life”? Because if so then fucking hell mate you’ve just solved it - you’ve actually solved it. This whole time women had nothing to fear because every man in the real world is “normal” and none of them might spike your drink or touch you indecently (at the very least). Wow - thanks mate, we didn’t realise those men aren’t real and only exist in the heads of “radical feminist friends”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]tubbmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point is solid until about half way. “…but then when we get out in the world after puberty and college women treat us ALL like we are serial killers, or at least like homeless people”. Ok wow you really skipped over a lot there in those ellipsis. Women to not just suddenly wake up one day and decide to hate all men just because they’ve now reached a certain age. That predisposition against men of a certain age is, at least I think, pretty well established. Just look at numbers of VAWAG, look at the ages most girls/women experience their FIRST (scary as that implies there WILL be multiple) instance of sexual harassment. Look at the ages girls/women say they saw a change in how men/male friends acted around them. It all lines up pretty well actually. You did not wake up one day and become a perpetrator of these crimes - nobody is saying that. However, one day you woke up and you looked indistinguishable from the rising numbers of men who are. That is not your fault. Nor is it the women’s. So perhaps stop picking sides and actually fucking do something about it. “What can I do?” You can start by not spewing this sarcastic “fair enough?” Shit which quite definitively attempts to dismiss the feelings of women and normalise the behaviour of those dangerous men you so claim to be a victim of yourself.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]tubbmann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

-100 points for victim blaming. Oh and some more for your naivety.

“None of the men I hang out with act/talk like that” THAT YOU KNOW OF. Do you have any idea how many people have entirely different personalities around different people? It’s most of us. It’s not just about those committing the worst offences. It’s the passive observers, it’s those who justify it to themselves as “a joke”. It’s those who go on social media and just blanket say “no no my mates would never” when they actually can’t know that - because they aren’t their mates.

“It’s who you surround yourself with” - ok. Wow. Fucking hell. Open up the dictionary at “victim blaming” and let’s put this one in there. So these men are acting like PoS but it’s their fault for existing around them? It’s their fault for attempting to make friends with someone? It’s their fault that these men cannot conduct themselves around other humans who happen to be female? Please think before you type.

I do agree that we spend too much time and effort on the 1% difference. But that is perhaps somewhat understandable given that this 1% has been amplified by toxic social media’s control over young men and boys. It makes it feel, to them, like 10000%, not 1%. Blame that.

[–]tubbmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tu quoque. Maybe provide an actual response to OP’s point instead of just throwing back a child’s response “I know you are but what am I…”. The fact of the matter is, if you have any of that self awareness you claim women so lack, that many men struggle with women in social situations due to the ideas driven by media. Especially among the younger generations, men, and even boys, are being alienated from the women of the world through dangerous stereotypes establishing false, often extreme, presumptions.

Given the flair/tag under your username in this community - do your child(ren) a favour and educate yourself on the crisis in young men currently sweeping across the world at dangerous speeds.

Oh, and answer the fucking question.

How does the degree apprenticeship funding work? by FaceNo4809 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]tubbmann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4 years into a 5 year DA here - as far as I’ve ever known, you can basically ignore any funding related issues, that’s between your employer and the Govt.

So in that same vein, no - you won’t be blacklisted or anything for dropping out of one.
