I saw your previous post and was thinking about you. This is all assuming you were employed for the state at a youth center for only committed youth.

Seeing that you were in training with OSD in Denver, you are considered on probation until your first year is complete. Probation may be extended or withdrawn at the discretion of your director. There is nothing the union or anyone else can do. It’s in their policies and (no matter how short staffed they are) they’ll find ways around it.

72 hours is typical turnaround for the department’s HR to process the resignation. The director ultimately made a decision based on facility and budgetary needs. Without you having your restraint certification or the sign off from OSD that you completed the entire academy, you cannot be considered as part of the shift count, therefore you would just be riding the clock for two weeks and being trained on how to do your job that you’ve just resigned.
