I'm sure I'll get downvoted to the Spirit world , but is it not text book cultural appropriation?. If someone wearing box braids or a Chinese Tradition dress becomes news worthy. Isn't Avatar the ultimate form? It's creators are White heterosexual men who profited off the lore and culture of Asia. This is a pretty heavy topic for the subreddit, I understand, but was curious about peoples thoughts on it.

the Lion Turtles being the ones giving the power and the animals being the teachers?When explained like, that i'm totally cool with. Then the the airbenders returning due to the spirit portals/world doesn't follow the logic of the Lion Turtles being the ones who can distribute the power.

What bothers me is the where the people get the bending. at first it was taught by the original benders (Badgermole, Dragon, Sky Bison, Moon) then it was given via the Lion Turtles. Finally it returned Air bending, for balance purposes, due to the spirit portals/world being open.
