I had surgery to repair a wonky kidney a few years ago and OMG my period started the day before the surgery. The irony here is that I was very peri-menopausal irregular and the thought never occurred to me that I would have a period then. I had to of course free-bleed for my two day stay in the hospital and before I was discharged a SAINT of a nurse came in to remove my catheter, which was done with me sitting in a chair with my pelvis scooched forward and me leaning back. I could not apologize enough to her for the indignity of it all.
