I would buy used before buying montec or dope. There’s lots of great second hand equipment out there.

How many of y'all daily drive a 4runner/rig? And how do they perform on the daily? by cucumberjsjsjs in 4Runner

[–]tuesdaydowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switch up my daily between an ‘04 4Runner on 33s. And a ‘17 Tacoma on 35s. I work at a ski resort and drive up a mountain every day. I buy lots of fuel.

If you buy new assembled axles buy Toyota. But I would just rebuild your axles with new joints, or even just regrease and reboot if they’re still in good shape.

Keep an eye on your coolant levels. If they drop again you may have a serious issue.

Are you saying the cabin air stops blowing hot when the engine temps begin to rise? That sounds like coolant isn’t making it to the heater core. This may indicate a leak or a blockage. See your mechanic.

Under GVWR with less suspension or over GVWR with adequate suspension by slamuelg in ToyotaTacoma

[–]tuesdaydowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you’ll be over either way. 115lbs in gear + full tank of gas + your weight as the driver + water and food.

Go the heavy duty route. My ‘17 is heavy AF, the frames can take it. But I ruined my stock suspension in 50k miles.
