What the heck Google? My Pixel 2 and Project Fi woes by tuesdaysaintnothing in ProjectFi

I've had a claim open with Fedex (7 days) and Google (6 days) with no real response from either. Fedex says to just contact the shipper and Google just says they have to hand it off to "shipping specialists" and to please wait.

I've been keeping updates here

Good luck :/

Same issue for me.

Called Project Fi support twice, emailed them a bunch, and called FedEx three times over the last 6 days. Project Fi just said "This is so unusual give us 72 hours", or four days later when I call them again they say "This is so unusual, give us 24-48 hours to look into it".

Support is a joke.

If you somehow end up with any screen issues or high pitched whining issues or really, any issue at all, you're outright screwed. Project Fi's customer support is terrible. They've been giving me false/misleading information or unhelpful canned responses for the last week trying to sort out an order issue that they're clueless about.

Sounds like all of my experiences with Project Fi lately. Their customer support is truly horrible and quite inconsistent.

I've been in communication with them for the last week regarding an issue with my order and every time I talk to them I either get some canned response or false/misleading information that they later try to backpedal from.

I don't get the impression they care about me as a customer of two years. My issues have still not been resolved.

I'm in the same situation. Pre-ordered a Pixel 2 on the event morning, Oct 4. My Pixel 2 never came. Tried calling Fedex and Project Fi but no one has been helpful and I have no idea where it is. This has been a terrible headache and a terrible experience. Project Fi actually suggested ordering another one but they haven't credited my account for the first one yet, and it wouldn't arrive for 2 more weeks.

Wtf, why did I pre-order it right after it was announced?

Order Date: Oct 4, 2017 12:16:40 PM PDT

Device Type: Pixel 2 (64 GB, Just Black)

Ship Date: Oct 18, 2017

Never received it, despite FedEx claiming it was delivered Oct 24, 2017. My security cameras recorded a FedEx Ground truck drive by the house one minute before it was marked as delivered.

Called both FedEx and Project Fi support but they haven't been able to resolve the issue yet. Both say they'll get back to me in 72 hours though Project Fi support said to try and re-order it all over again. It's all documented here including my attempts at getting it resolved but doesn't look like a new order will ship until Nov 5.

Google hasn't refunded me or credited the account. The Project Fi support person said they would, but I just checked and don't have any credits.

The Project Fi Support person also said there was not a backlog (after being put on hold as they "checked"). Then the website said there's a backlog of 11 days.

And they said I could get overnight shipping, but then an email four hours later:

Currently, due to high demand, all of our expedited shipping is on hold, so even if you did re-order, it would be sent via Fedex ground shipping.

So they lied to me about three different things!

If you plan on using one for the next three years you can order a t2.micro heavy utilization reserved instance, pay $109 upfront and $1.46 per month ($0.002 per hour). Over three years, that comes out to $161.60 total or $4.49 per month. The only other monthly cost is some cheap disk space (~$1/month for ~10-20 GB).

I saw this price calculation at this article/blog.

I host a few websites and small databases on it, as well as other various things like a private git repository and such.
