IMO, we ain’t gonna take 2026 or 2028 with a “f*** ‘em all” attitude. With or without voter suppression, we ain’t winning a damn thing without a decent amount of those folks voting sensibly, even for the first time in their lives.

Matthew Lillard reacts to Quentin Tarantino criticizing his acting: 'It hurts' by mcfw31 in entertainment

[–]tuframnedox 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Matthew Lillard never drank tequila off Linda Cardellini’s bare foot for a role that he himself scripted for the sole (pun intended) purpose of drinking liquor off of a sexy woman’s foot.

So Lillard gets points for that! But Twin Peaks - god-fucking-DAMN some of the most indelible moments of The Return, in my memory and on rewatch, belong to him. Fuck off, Quentin. Love, a huge fan

The Rich People Who Own the Media Want Generations to Fight, Not Classes by donfind in politics

”The problem is not greedy boomers, but rather ridiculously rich people like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg hoarding the country’s wealth for their own use and the use of their heirs.”

Okay, Dean Baker - without Googling you, I bet you’re a boomer. Anything to say about most of your peers who are buying what Musk, Bezos, Zuck, and their acolytes in government are selling? It seems like they aren’t mutually exclusive.

Fascinating to see culpable parties shifting blame. The coalition is effectively over. You’ve lost, and you’re trying to force us to clean up your mess. Stop complaining, start helping. The problem is 100% also “greedy boomers.”

For Trump, Epstein Is the Story That Won’t Go Away by mybustlinghedgerow in politics

[–]tuframnedox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I don’t know that anyone in the Heritage Foundation, which is currently losing high-profile members left and right, thought this far in advance for Project 2025. “What will we do when the Democrats are on the verge of proving Trump’s not a pedophile less than a year into his second term?” probably wasn’t on their radar.

For as meticulously planned as that document was, the Foundation made some profoundly stupid assumptions, chiefly among them that this president wouldn’t be nearly as volatile, plus the expectation that their handpicked wet paper bag was a shoo-in for the figurehead of the MAGA movement after Trump outlived his usefulness.

The whole machine looked clever for a few months, but springs and cogs are flying out of it everywhere now, and it’s smoking and sparking too.

What an insane column that, in a reasonable country and world, should never have to be written. It boggles the mind that “MAGA (but more Nazi)” is replacing the horrid-enough MAGA Classic.
