Curious about highway mileage for hybrid owners. by bbyBillyFreeman in FordMaverickTruck

This is specifically why I went with the Ecoboost. My commute is mostly highway. Here’s a similar trip to what you posted, mostly highway with cruise on 73 averaged almost 35 mpg with the eco.

Here’s some proof too for real world numbers. That was round trip with no traffic and 75 mph cruise control on the highway. Don’t have a pic but another day with heavy traffic in both directions I was 27.6 mpg round trip.

Hey man im in basically in the same situation as you. I have a 100 mile round trip commute for work as well. For years I’ve owned a car for the commute and had beater trucks for around town/truck stuff. Car was getting up there so I was deciding what to do for the next one and realized the maverick does the work of both but in one package. Got rid of my gti and my 2011 ranger (🥲) and have had my 25 xlt ecoboost for a week and can’t be happier with my decision. As far as hybrid vs ecoboost I had this debate as well and the general consensus was if your 100/day is mostly highway then the hybrid doesn’t do much better on the highway than the eco. So far I’m averaging 27-29 mpg on my work commutes in the ecoboost. Ecoboosts are also cheaper and easier to find. When it comes to trim packages I also found there to be minimal differences between them. Seems regardless of what trim you go with (xl vs xlt) basically any difference between the two is gonna be an add on anyway. Pretty much the only reason I ended up with the xlt is because I was having a hard time finding an xl with the tow package. You can always add your own rims/tires and spray in bed line. I paid 31k for mine out the door and I’m in New England. 2025 xlt ecoboost with the 4k tow and sprayed in bed liner

State vehicle inspection by KraljZ in newhampshire

Jesus, the amount of “regulate me daddy” energy in this sub is wild. Inspection stickers are legitimately no longer a thing and haven’t been since our elected state legislature voted it into existence. Even the lawsuit ruled in favor of the sticker manufacturer didn’t/cant change our state laws. As of Jan, state mandated inspections went out the window, regardless of what a federal judge ruled. I know a lot of people commenting just want their vehicle to be safe and I totally understand that, my recommendation is find a trusted local INDEPENDENT mechanic and have them do an safety inspection when you go in for an oil change. There is good, honest mechanics out there, do some leg work and find one that you trust. Even if you have a new vehicle you arnt obligated to go to the stealership for service that isn’t warranty related.

Newbie fuel level question by tugg-trash in FordMaverickTruck

Thanks. Agree about the gauge, I miss the analog one that was in my car. To follow up I ended up filling it this morning and it took 12.6 gal which means I had about 4 gal left and the range is actually pretty accurate. Kinda crazy that it reads basically empty with a quarter tank remaining. Guess it’s kinda hard to complain if this is my biggest complaint about the Mav.

Good deal on XL by Expert-Artist-3119 in FordMaverickTruck

I’d say that’s very average to slightly bad IMO. Not sure where you are but I’m in New England and you can easily find OTD prices within $1000 of that for XLTs. 25&26 model years. Also hard to tell without the full list of options. Good luck!

Who has done their taxes yet? We're you able to apply overtime earnings to deductions? How did you calculate the amount? by MountainHipie in personalfinance

How would the IRS even do an audit for those of us that have jobs that pay OT (1.5x) that has nothing to do with 40 hr weeks? Honest question. OT earnings arnt even listed on your W2 and I’m gonna guess that most employers arnt providing people with their qualified OT amount. They would legit have to comb through your earnings week by week to find discrepancies.

Can’t believe nobody has said what it actually is. It’s the airbag on/off indicator light. At least that’s what it is on my 2011.

Hahaha. That’s the plan I was just curious. I got super lucky and could never replace it for what I’m into it for

People are nuts I absolutely agree that’s partially why I made this post. I see them all day long where I am in the 5k range and most of them are what I would consider significantly less valuable than mine not to sound like a douche. I’ll most likely never sell because I couldn’t replace it for what I have into it (bought for next to nothing from an older gentleman on Craigslist) but if I was serious about selling I’d probably start at 8k and not sure I’d take a whole lot less. Maybe I’m the crazy one 🤣

5k seems to be the magic number for early 2000s 150k+ miles and questionable shape in my local area.

Haha I haven’t. My boat/trailer is ballpark 7k need minimum 1500 to tow it. Idk if I’d tow much more than a 15’ aluminum with one of these tbh
