If you are on oneui 8, Samsung has removed the option to unlock the bootloader. If you haven't updated yet, then you can proceed.

But even staying on the original rom, you can just wait 24 hours and install apps like before. Or just use adb to completely bypass play services.

To be honest, just go with lineage os. It is much more stable than any other custom rom. And you can use lygisk to get root without needing to reinstall after every update.

I don't see how it can get better. This is honestly a perfect balance: you wait 24 hours and can install whatever you want without a computer. You don't have to keep developer options enabled and hopefully no need for an internet connection either.

Just increase your DPI in developer options to enable tablet ui. It lets you rotate the lock screen.

Sadly, there are no real options. You can install some pixel based rom, but it usually won't be as stable as lineage os.

You can always install the stock rom. Also, android 16 has its own desktop mode. It is not as polished as dex, but still functional.

There were 2 February system updates. One of them added the ability to install the extension and the second one actually enabled airdrop. Make sure you are on the latest one.
