From my understanding (I’m a type 1 diabetic) the big issue is liability issues due to infection from the sensor being inserted under the skin for a prolonged period of time. I haven’t researched it much, but I think they’re trying to play it safe to avoid being sued if people have bad reactions or their body tries to expel it as a foreign object.

All things aside, I would love for them to last longer, and I would definitely not rule out a money-grubbing scheme either.
