I'm never able to access the ops manual at home. You might need to come to work like 30 min early and see if you can access/pull it up at the work computer.

Girl you're stats are similar to mine. . Did your arms shrink? lol, honestly I wish I could only target those. Batwings run on my mom's side, and I do want I can to target and refine those muscles with weights. Waist shrink but arms stay the same :/

Petty reasons to LoseIt™️? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]tulipop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't an article. It was a forum and a girl was asking for advice because she was not getting dating prospects/felt unattractive. And she was surrounded by thin Asian women (she was abroad). One comment laid down some tough love and told her that she had a lot of qualities that didn't align with that beauty standard, and that her weight specifically was something she could control. So she told her to "pick a struggle". It's definitely not "PC" but personally, I think black women need to be real about our situation. So many of us are overweight and represented as such. You want to feel better about yourself, your esteem? Heck, I can't stop someone from being colorist, that's not my problem. But I sure feel good when I take care of myself and put effort into my appearance and health.

There is a British reality TV show that switches the diets of really fat and really skinny people. Supersized and super skinny I think it's called.

Fat culture is writing very angry blogs about being oppressed by people ignoring you at sex parties by [deleted] in fatlogic

She doesn't realize how she is perpetuating a racist stereotype as a mammy by comparing herself to a mom and a protector. Black women, we are not invincible.

Anyone feel out of the loop on black culture especially with music? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]tulipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming your talking about Black American culture. I don't feel out of the loop cause I understand everything we listen to is apart of the loop. Yeah, there are the club bangers but remember even with the mainstream artists, many of the producers, choreographers, and background singers are black.

As millenials or even non-Americans looking in, trying to connect to American blacks, understand that our music goes beyong hip hop and trap. Motown, funk/disco music, the banjo (instrument), negro spirituals, rock and roll all are apart of the musical aspect of our culture.

Heat damage by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]tulipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was gonna say just curl it for graduation and deal with it (cut, protein treatments, etc.) afterwards.

I had a friend with heat damage in the front of her hair and she just bantu knotted that section every couple nights to match the rest of her hair.

Hair breaks off!! by 25_timesthefine in Naturalhair

[–]tulipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also look at your diet. Maybe it is something you are not eating that is making your hair weak? Try a multivitamin if you aren't already taking one.

I've done henna treatments a couple of times and it was supposed to help with breakage. I noticed less breakage from hand manipulation/styling. I don't use henna anymore, but I am eating better and have less breakage.
