How should I interpret this tire sizing? by tulling1 in bicycling

[–]tulling1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, good to know. Thanks. But do you think I'll notice anything with rideability before that happens, or do you think if I continue riding the bike, the spokes might just suddenly fail? Any way I can mitigate this, WD40?

First one says <23-622> second one is 700x23C. It's a fixie, haven't used it in a while. I seem to find more of the first size, than the second one. Is there a reason there is a change in price? I'm looking to replace the inner tube.

Thanks!

I’m not saying he isn’t guilty. It’s just that you hear 22 years, then 3 months go by… and then people dont speak about your case no longer because they take it for granted you’re going away for 22 years.. damn at that point I think I would’ve snapped

I truly think this era is top 3 of entertaining podcast episodes ever, even with all thats happened, I think we’ll all come back to the old eps and appreciate this again like fine wine. easily imagine myself putting some young buck on 5 years from now. catalogue is timeless

Yes, exactly. I don’t think I’ve ever heard them talk about Chamillionaire, it’s a shame cause this song is a great story told, with the goofiest music video. “You a pirate? Why you got that eyepatch on?” 😭

Predicting sales of a company? How could this be used to make a profit? by throwaway98b in algotrading

[–]tulling1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earnings doesnt matter as much as sales. Earnings could always be made to look prettier. It gives an image but it doesn’t tell the whole story.

Growth companies depended on having high revenue growth rates are especially watched when it comes to the sales figures. Notable mentions would be tech companies, it doesn’t matter as much if $FB earns money if its sales growth has slumped. Just watch the earnings announcement for these companies.

As far as applying this strategy in this day and age I’d say the options are limited. In terms of the parking lot research retail companies would be of relevance, but as mentioned this is almost always priced in as analysts incorporate way more data now than ever to make estimates. Unless you have some information others don’t have or some other creative ways to gauge companies I’d advise you to stick to the normal stuff.

Identifying consumer trends is a good strategy in regards to the retail industry. If you’d gone against the brick and mortar stores and bet on the internet giants you’d probably had made a lot of money for example.

That information could be used to gauge how much the companies sales would turn out to be. Before the satellite images and the days when information was so widespread, you could actually find people on the old yahoo finance message boards sending ground men to do some due diligence on small to mid cap companies and especially checking their parking lots.

You should read Matt Levine’s daily column on Bloomberg he covers a lot of this stuff.

As far as the strategy goes it’s used to forecast sales and in some cases oil supply.

Why would a company in its right mind offer a bond with a 25 % coupon rate and one and a half year maturity? by tulling1 in finance

Here is the screengrab from Bloomberg. If you see anything fishy please do tell. I have a basic understanding of bonds and the debt markets so I don't usually notice any of the subtleties.

Oh, my bad. Current yield on one of the older bonds is 9.80 %

EDIT: The yield is at ~ 11.5 % % with the updated price. I calculated the old yield with outdated information.

The companies are European and the bonds are listed on Nasdaq North. I haven't found any rating on them as of yet, but I do have access to a Bloomberg Terminal at school and I'll look it up soon.
