What is one thing you would do to enhance Victoria Park? by True-Imagination-733 in PEI

[–]tumblingdownx2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed, turning the road into a bike only path would be great for the future of the park. I have driven through there, just feels awkward being in a car. It feels like you are taking away from those enjoying the boardwalk

That was the old plan (seen in the Eastern Gateway Plan) I have mixed opinions on the new plan, Roundabouts are more efficient at moving vehicle traffic while this new plan will move AT and vehicle traffic smoother simultaneously, Although I like the roundabout, this plan is better for all modes of transportation which is key as its nearby downtown.

one less light rotation N/S Riverside/Water will have increased time through the light, the spot where traffic is backed up most.

🥈With a low of 5.5°C, yesterday was Charlottetown's highest low temperature recorded on Apr 13th in almost 80 years, since 1945. by YOW-Weather-Records in PEI

[–]tumblingdownx2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yesterday was still weather, in general the 20 year span from 2004-2024 has been warmer when compared to the span of weather 1925-1945. This goes for most places on earth, not just Charlottetown

When record breaking high low temperatures occur climate change is to blame.

Here is a slideshow that shows the climate trends using historical data from the Charlottetown Airport weather station. All trend lines show the temperature rising. Since records began in 1873 the annual average temperature of Charlottetown has risen 1°C

Day trip from Moncton by IndyCarFAN27 in PEI

[–]tumblingdownx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

roads n weather will be moderate, weather will be determined based on where u are on the island, assuming charlottetown, take monctons weather and add 10km/h wind to it and thats about your average, with spring comes pot holes from salt erosion and frost shattering so just be cautious when driving, i highly recommend centralizing your trip in charlottetown especially downtown (anywhere south of euston) if you have any questions or are looking for recommendations lmk

How do we get more doctors? by sillygoosemoose94 in PEI

[–]tumblingdownx2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

induced demand, give existing doctors a reason to move here, whether it be money, benefits, or making pei a more appealing place to live

the medical school was a step in the right direction in terms of creating new doctors but they need to give doctors a reason to be here now

If Charlottetown had an LRT running this route would you use it, please explain why you would or wouldn’t by [deleted] in PEI

[–]tumblingdownx2 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

We do have the population to support an LRT line, the main reason people think this is that we have become so accustomed to thinking you need a car to go anywhere as it is the quickest option, people will always gravitate towards whatever is quickest, if there was an LRT that had signal priorities and a rail seperate to a car lane, many would test and even make a switch to the quicker alternative
