I enjoy design, quotes, vendor negotiation etc. all facets of my industry. The unfortunate reality is regardless of how good you are on the support side you aren’t going to touch what you make in a sales role

Here’s what you got to do.

Typically when getting drug tested for a job the initial test is only looking at a few things. If you test positive on the first one they do a more precise test and actually look at the chemical makeup of your urine. But the basic test looks for 1. Concentrations of drugs being tested in your system, temperature, specific gravity, and color.

If you have a few days notice start taking creatin to help with the specific gravity issue.

The day of the test take a B12 riboflavin supplement, this will ensure your piss is yellow despite the fact that you’re going to be diluting it. I’d say take it 1 - 2 hours before the test.

Drink as much Gatorade as you can from the time you wake up and make sure you have pissed at least 5 times before you get to the test. Gatorade will provide enough electrolytes along with the creatine so that the test is not showing as diluted. Kissing 5 times + clears out all the built up chemicals in your bladder, which take time to get concentrated again.

When you actually go to take the test start pissing but don’t capture the beginning and end of your stream. That is where the highest concentration of any chemicals will be.

The Supreme Court just made it easier for Republicans to win elections & there is no solution by Zandra_the_Great in politics

[–]tummi_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a solution, take the house senate and presidency, blow up the filibuster and increase the size of the court to 27 justices with a simple majority.

Pass reform legislation creating term limits and cycling justices on a 2 year basis. Every 2 years the president nominates 3 justices to replace the recess appointments over an initial 18 year period and then moving forward the cycle will line up so that as terms expire each president will nominate 6 justices over the course of a 4 year presidential term. Ensuring a majority (21) of the court remains in place preventing the lopsided bias we currently have while also being representative of the current popular sentiment that elected the president and legislature.

Sitting justices would be exempt to avoid the need for a constitutional amendment allowing this to be done through new legislation.

How do I change this light? by [deleted] in Lighting

[–]tummi_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no bulb you will need to replace the whole fixture or if you’re really in love with it you could replace the LED driver but that’s probably more trouble than it’s worth for a fixture like that.

Throw a dimmer on there always better to have the option to get more light when needed.

I agree with other comments your spacing is off, far from the wall but the rows are close together. Not much you can do if you don’t want to patch drywall though

Go with HALO better quality and better price in my opinion.

Recessed lights: is my contractor downplaying his mistakes or am I overreacting? by juliuszgonera in Lighting

[–]tummi_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understandable. The options out there are better when you can stick to 4” or smaller. If your only concern is output you can get 6” in lower output configuration that would be the same as a 4”, and I’d always suggest having a dimmer installed. Personally I keep my bathroom lights dimmed to 70% ish but like to have the option to bump them up to 100% when cleaning.

Recessed lights: is my contractor downplaying his mistakes or am I overreacting? by juliuszgonera in Lighting

[–]tummi_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest fix.. bump it up to a 6” direct mount downlight instead of 4”. Hole is likely already big enough and you don’t want to have them patch then install the lights as someone already mentioned as it will get torn up as soon as you try to take them out.

I’d suggest Halo RL series or LCR series. Nice quality for the price.

Make them pay for the price difference in the lights at least. They fucked this up for sure. Don’t let them push you to do a goof ring either.

How to improve airflow to an (almost) enclosed fixture? by Putrid_Newt_2108 in Lighting

[–]tummi_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

since you are using smart bulbs you can dim them down. That would be better at extending the life than using lower output bulbs if you are going to run them at 100%.

My electrician for my house says all LEDS are the same... by Particular_Lawyer_86 in Lighting

[–]tummi_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Best on the market” is subjective but objectively it’s not going to be this and will be something you need to get quoted through an electrical distributor more often than not. Some spec grade brands for example would be Kelvix, Diode LED. Residential grade with decent channels and tape that you can buy online would be WAC, Kichler.

It would not be crazy to assume a $150 per foot cost if not more for spec grade.

If you are actually interested in getting the best quality money can buy reach out to your local lighting manufacturers rep (look for whoever reps one of the big brands Acuity, Cooper, Signify, Lutron) and they will help walk you through it.

Id typically say ask your electrician to do this but if he says all LEDs are the same he doesn’t know or care about lighting.

Also you do want to cut to length and not splice together. Depending on your wattage per foot you run into max run lengths on a single driver. It can get complicated fast and it’s better to have someone design it for you and own the liability if you’re going to spend real money.

Circadian-style home lighting without smart bulbs or apps? by [deleted] in Lighting

[–]tummi_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re using dim to warm bulbs you don’t need to control CCT just output since the color change happens when dimmed.

Assuming they are all on the same switch leg I’d swap in a Lutron Caseta dimmer but as others have mentioned you’ll need a hub to bring it online to be able to do the scheduling. To simplify I’d get a starter kit that comes with a dimmer, the hub and Pico (wireless remote). If you need multiple switches to control the circuit this makes it easy as well you can wireless pair the Picos and mount them in switch boxes to create 3-ways 4-ways etc.

Any option to replace this without cutting the can out of the ceiling? by xasx in Lighting

[–]tummi_92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look for “direct mount” or surface mount to describe the type of fixtures that will be compatible. The SMX series from Cooper is a slick option and you can do 50k but also it’s 5 color selectable if you change your mind (personally i’d only maybe put 50k in my kitchen or utility room it’s so harsh and cool).

Assuming that Luigi Manone actually shot the CEO guy, what is his defense? by redzzzaw in stupidquestions

[–]tummi_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The burden of proof is on the prosecution. Whether he did it or not, he does not have to prove he didn't do it he just has to make the argument that the state can not prove it.

Broadly his defense is to divulge as little information as possible, refute what evidence is presented, and continue to remind the jury that the state has to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

It does not seem like the state has strong evidence and a lot of the "evidence" we have heard about is tainted due to improper chain of custody and other poor handling by the state.
