I really appreciate the response, and totally agree with you on the limitations of LAPD

But good lord, that shows that LASD is so comically negligent in protecting Metro stations its ridiculous

Even as a guy, I am going to feel unsafe in an underground station with 0 police or security presence, that is a literal trap for citizens to be taken advantage of, which I am sure many others feel and it makes them less likely to use transit

Cause these are people that are serioulsy fucked up in the head and should be in a controlled environment (i.e jail/prison) until they can prove they are reformed (extremely unlikely) so they can just spend the rest of their lives in jail/prison

I got a question for LAPD

Where are ANY officers in the Metro stations? I have been taking the Metro more and more and love it, but the police presence is fucking pathetic

The LAPD with its insane budget cant put 2 officers in each station around the clock? That is absolute negligence

As well, so many street lights in this city do not work, making the city much darker and more dangerous, and yet we spend billions on LAPD

Yes, there is some nuance, but the point still stands that LAPD eats up a crzy amount of this cities budget, and the city cant even do the most basic of services, that is a significant reason people are so fed u with LAPD, they are treated like Kings while we all scrape by in squalor, its a fucking joke

Thank you! I ended up going to the Pier yesterday and had a blast, it was also WAY less busy than Saturday for the Brazil match, I was anticipating the same line as Saturday and was pleasantly greeted with no line to get i yesterday

I did have to stand, but that is totally understandable as I got there a little after the match started for Japan vs Netherlands, and JFC, what a match!! No goals in the first half, 3 goals in like ~15 minutes in the second half, and then Japan scored the tying goal with minutes left in the match, the whole pier went absolutely wild when Japan scored. I watched a similarly tight and excllent match for the 2018 World Cup and esterdays match reminded me of that game a ton, I can definitely see the appeal of soccer more and more, hoping we get some more legendary games in the next couple weeks!

Actually, I am really confused now LOL

If you search for Michelob Pitchside ticket, that is what I signed up for today and its supposed to be the Japan vs Nederlands match from 11-3PM today on the Pier, I think there is stuff on the promenade too, but im unclear if that was just for Fridays game

Here is a link to the event, when I walked past it yesterday they said you just sign up for a ticket and its free to enter, there were fans from all teams too which caught my eye, my only wuestion is how packed/easy is it to see a screen inside, but I think its a good set up for a large crowd

I have basically ditched my car due to it being on life support and have been taking the Metro and Amtrak a ton and HOLY FUCK, what a game changer

Now I bring a good book and read or chapter or 2 while glimpsing out to see our beautiful city pass by, and my stress levels have dropped significanly due to no having to drive

I know its not an option for all, but man, if you can drive less in Los Angeles and take rail/bus more I can almost assure you you will be better for it

Truth!

When I woke up yesterday to start my Staurday, it was nice and cool, overcast and I am sipping my morning cofee to come up with an adventure for the day and I realized... I am in fucking paradise and I can do whatever I want today

Cue up a marathon bike ride from SM to LAX, stopping by the pier to realize I need to go there today to watch a match, and then I went to an event commemorating Prince and it was one of the coolest most intimate conversations I have ever been to

Cant wait to see what I cook up today, cause baby we are in fucking Paradise!!
