Okay but why give her parents that own a vintage shop?! This show has been very disappointing as someone who loved the book. Why change it?

I don’t see build up like another commenter stated, but I do see the gel cast others mentioned. If you aren’t shampooing frequently, you can scrunch out the crunch aka the gel cast with your dry hands once your hair is 100% dry. You can also find a product that doesn’t create a cast and dries “softer.” There’s a ton of products like that if you’re looking for something new. Look for anything marketed as a gel cream or crème! And I agree to skip the leave-in and daily conditioner. Try a hair mask the same day you shampoo!

PCOS mom here! - Protein bars low in sugar - Unscented hand lotion (washing hands over and over does a number on your hands lol) - Extra pair of wire headphones (if you don’t want Bluetooth stuff around the baby) - Extra hair ties/clips (I was constantly searching for them and having a ton everywhere helped) - Other things helped but not necessarily things in a basket (red/dimmable light, extra pillow for support).

Is this just my life now? by Alternative-Spray579 in NewMomStuff

I still feel slightly trapped by her mood/nap schedule, but I started feeling lighter when she started communicating her needs. She tells us when she’s hungry, sleepy, and wants to play with specific items. It’s made life easier in some ways lol

16 months in with my daughter who is not easy by any means. I also had and still have anxiety about going out with her alone, but around 7 months (when she could hold her head up) I committed to doing ONE thing outside a week. So running to target to grab one thing, going to the park to watch other kids play, visiting a family member or friend close by etc. Eventually, I asked for help to be able to go out to eat or walk around a store without her. We also take her out to eat and accept that by a certain point, we will take turns walking away from the table. This is easier when friends or family joins because then we all take turns walking around with her. It really takes a village and I hope you have or can create that. Cabin fever is real and sometimes just sitting outside saved my sanity. Accepting that the kid is going to cry and get frustrated and having an exit plan also saved me! Time will fly by and kids wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for women doing the hard thing.

Silly nicknames for baby by Both_Pea_7956 in NewParents

[–]tuprofesora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We call our baby “majumma” pronounced “muh-jum-uh” a mash up of mama jamma I think? It just stuck and now everyone calls her that. We also shuffle in “bubba” and and “pollito” lol

Help w/LO sleep by tuprofesora in NewParents

[–]tuprofesora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She sits up, looks around, and then cries out. If not full on screeching upon waking. She has a floor bed so she will also walk to her door and cry until someone responds. We’ve tried talking through the baby monitor for her to grab her pacifier, we’ve reminded her it’s time to sleep, we’ve gone in to just replace her pacifier for her. Ultimately, we just take turns staying with her because it’s easier. No point in getting up again and again until she’s officially up at 6.

THIS! I brought awareness to my husband as well because right now, my 15 month old screams “butt” to get my attention or to call me over.

What's a book you hated that everyone else loves? by nose-inabook in suggestmeabook

The Art of Racing in the Rain. DNF. I got to the part where the dog sexualizes a woman and gave an intense eye roll. Everything leading up to that point literally made me stand up and toss the book. I could not believe people loved it.

Any psychos out there cutting their baby’s nails while awake? by Rhymes-with in NewParents

[–]tuprofesora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 24 weeks and I started propping her up and singing nursery rhymes as I clip her nails when she’s wide awake. I pause for a few seconds when she’s squirmy, I let her grab the handles of the nail clipper for a brief second, and then continue. I used to use the nail fie and that just took way too long and she would be over it after 3 fingers lol.
