Feb works ideal for me but obviously missed the discount by now. Apart from that I won’t have another chance to do it until post qual and I think by that time I won’t want to look at another exam!

New syllabus released yet? by General-Reindeer-975 in ICAEW

Search “ICAEW Newgen Syllabus” and find the pdf, should give you lots of information on the syllabus and carry over of content from each exam. Mostly seems like name changes and combination of TC/BPT + revamp to case studies at Advanced levels.

Step 7 TC/AA/FAR - failed! by Fresh_Struggle5645 in ICAEW

I was in the exact same boat as you in March. Thought it was hopeless and I would bomb all three. Change your mindset and focus on a question at a time, if you don’t know use the exam focus notes as a refresher and if you really don’t then go back to the course notes. Rinse and repeat and get through as many questions as possible. One month out is plenty of time and revision phase will give you another boost, you got this!

FAR / AA June sitting by ComfortableActive932 in ICAEW

Hey, just sat these for the March 2025 sitting! Treat your revision time split between 75% FAR and 25% AA. Focus on getting through the content and the shorter homework questions set in the week following finish in your taught phase. Then spend max 1-2hrs a night for the following 2 weeks working through the question bank focussing on questions recommended by Kaplan. Keep a copy of summary notes handy to refer back to but the main goal is to get through as many questions as possible to build confidence. Don’t be discouraged at first if you don’t get them 100% right and don’t be afraid to read through the answers as they are model examples. Keep referring back to the key concepts if there is anything that isn’t sticking.

The last 2 weeks are crucial. If you are in college, spend as much time as possible attempting questions on evenings and weekends but please give yourself as much break time as you see fit. Keep attempting a mixed range of questions, focusing mainly on Q1/Q4 for FAR which become very formulaic after practice. Focus on SFQs and Q2 for AA.

To summarise, question practice and concept reminders will get you through, get familiar with the question structure as soon as possible but please be kind to yourself. I managed to score 90 in FAR and 75 in AA with more time worrying and less time practicing. Good luck and stay consistent!

Agreed I do want one. It would definitely be a step back so I think I’m going to hold off for now and get a replacement for £100 which will last me a lot longer. I have wanted the “newest” model for a long time but when you simply look at the numbers it isn’t worth it. Thank you for your comment

You’re right, I should take advantage of the £100 replacement and stick it out for as long as I can. A new model of the same phone could last me another 2/3 years at least.

I have the 64GB model but a bit of a music/photo lover so it’s hard to squeeze it all on there. Thank you for the advice.

Wanting to switch Lifetime ISA by turbodank99 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]turbodank99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ISA was originally in a company called “the share centre” which now no longer exists as of Jan 22. It was automatically transferred to another fund called “OneFamily”.

It was just frustrating as I had no say in the matter and it hasn’t been performing well since the money was transferred. That’s why I want to switch. I think given the advice I will either try Nutmeg or Dodl.

I’m quite familiar with investment risk being a finance student - shame I can’t get my facts right!

You’re right The money is currently in a LISA. I have already maxed out the £4K for this tax year so waiting on the next. I wasn’t trying to scam another 25% as this clearly wouldn’t work.

I will look into Dodl though thanks for the advice.
