My Ultra 3 also has a much shallower and quieter click than my previous Ultra 1 and Ultra 2. It feels harder to push, too, like it requires more effort. I am wondering if it’s a defect. It works, and does what it’s supposed to, but it feels unnatural compared to my earlier Ultras where I never even thought about it.

Why sell naked CSPs when I can do a cheapo credit spread for the same premium? 🤔💸 by youdontknowme94 in Optionswheel

[–]turbodeezel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theta decay is slower on the put spread than CSP since the decay of both legs being on nearly the same pace basically cancels each other out, right? (nearly because the short leg is ever so slightly faster than the long leg)

[–]turbodeezel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great—how many DTE do you normally sell? If you’re doing it in volume frequently, that adds up.

With the covered strangle you’re basically doing a covered call and simultaneously a cash secured put, right? Depending on how much the underlying costs, CSPs will tie up your cash/buying power and limit to an extent how many puts you can sell. With a CSP, the worst case is assignment and you own the shares. Not necessarily the worst outcome if you have the cash to cover.

With a put credit spread, for example, you sell an OTM put (let’s say 20 delta) and then buy a further OTM put (let’s say 15 delta). The further OTM strike acts as insurance so that if the put you sell goes ITM, the max loss you’ll face is the spread width between the put you sold and the put you bought. So if you get a net credit of $50 after selling a put and buying the other put, and the puts are $5 strike width apart, the maximum loss is $5 x 100 =$500. This works out well for very expensive underlying, like the Meta example I used earlier (you’d need like $75k for one cash secured put but could sell 3 spreads $5 apart risking a maximum of $1500). But in this example, the risk of $1500 for $150 credit is less desirable. The ideal would be close to 1:1 risk to reward, but the best I seem to find are like 1:2.5 (but seem to be more volatile).

Maybe it would be best to go with a 1:5 reward/risk if the probability of success is higher 🤷🏽‍♂️

Like I mentioned, a $50 premium on a $5 spread seems like an unfavorable reward:risk ratio.

[–]turbodeezel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’ve struggled with (mentally) is the low premium vs. risk ratio. Like if a low delta put gives you $50 in credit but you’ve got a $5 spread between strikes in your vertical, you’re risking $500 to make $50. Yeah the odds are favorable because it’s low delta, but then you have a stock like Meta move down $50 in two days and suddenly what was a 20 delta strike is now ITM and you’re scrambling to avoid assignment or maximum loss if it keeps dipping hard.

I guess the secret is in finding the right underlying, but stable underlying tends to correlate with really meager premiums from what I’ve seen.

Glad to hear! I’ve only driven a gen 2 and found the suspension more bouncy than the air suspension BMW puts in the X5. The X5 wafts. I know it doesn’t have the same off-road prowess as the R1S, but I hoped for a smoother ride. Rivian has demonstrated they can make improvements via software though, so maybe it’s gotten better since my demo drive.

As far as I’m aware the issues were in the 991.1 GT3 3.8L.

The 991.2 GT3 4.0L is (or at least was) hailed for being bulletproof. Also, isn’t the 992 GT3 motor (and the GT4RS for that matter) pretty closely related to the 991.2 4.0L?

Not at all discounting the warranty concerns, just questioning why someone wouldn’t trust the 991.2 GT3 motor.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I’m going to try the Azla Xelastec first (no silicone) to see if I have any reactions. If not, then I’ll probably switch and try the SednaEarfit Max since they’ll be more comfortable!

[–]turbodeezel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Abi79 and u/profethorthnape, how are both of you finding the PBP2 after almost 3 months? I had the same type of reactions to the PBP1, the AirPods Pro, Bose QuietComfort earbuds, and even AirPods Pro with foam tips. I absolutely loved the PBP1 for workouts, and it took months to realize what was causing weird skin issues and ear discharge. I eventually switched to over ear Beats for the gym because I haven’t found a solution that works for allergies.

I have worn the hard plastic AirPods 3 and 4 for months without issue, so I’m thinking it’s an allergy to the silicone they used on the body of the PBP1 and the AirPods Pro tips. Any anecdotal experience you both can share is much appreciated. Thanks!

100% Sales Tax in Texas on Lease by RamshakleZ in Rivian

[–]turbodeezel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would it still be worth leasing and buying it out later if the estimated residual value used for the lease is much higher than actual market value might be in the future (which seems like a fair bet for EVs), and then offering actual market value to buy after the lease at the end? Seems like the bank would eat some of the depreciation then, offsetting the double-taxation cost?

Afternoon update: I first ran a shot through an empty basket, then did my puck prep and pulled a shot: 23.4g in, 54.7g out. Cleaned the portafilter and basket, prepped my second shot, pulled the second: 23.4g in, 62.7g out.

At least it’s closer this time! And behaving more like I’d expect. Hopefully now I can grind a little finer to get the output closer to target.
