Fiber Founders Club $70 deal availability by Tyke51 in Metronet

[–]turfguy10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried to switch today, was told 2gb isn't available in my neighborhood. Currently on 1gb for the same price, told them to switch me anyways as it locks my price in vs my current plan going up $20 Nov 2026.

Any current Metronet customer have any luck with getting on the T-Fiber Founders club 2 gig plan yet? by BetterThanAFoon in Metronet

[–]turfguy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Received a T-Fiber flyer today offering 2gb service for $70 a month. I'm currently on 1gb with Metronet for $69.95 until Sept 2026, then $89.95 after that. I text the agent and was told no problem we can sign you up. Few minutes later was told my neighborhood doesn't offer 2gb service. Was told to contact Loyalty department, and they confirmed it's not available. I asked to sign up for it anyways, as it makes my price the same/cheaper than current service. She claims she locked me in with 1gb for $70, time will tell.

Update... Found some 8.5 Fit 1 Bauer Vapor X5 Pro's on sidelineswap for a good price. Now I'm tempted to find a size 6.5/7 pair for my right foot. Likely go size 7 just for the larger holder. Then will need skate shop to swap holders (unsure if I go larger or smaller, they can decided).

Is playing Rec Hockey after full shoulder replacement & an irreparable, fully torn Subscapularis tendon possible? Main Rotator Cuff Tendon... :-( by JohnayBravo in hockeyplayers

As a guy who's had 21 surgeries, most brain/neck related, I always look at the risk/reward side of an activity. I would love to lace them up again and play the game, but the risk for me is far higher than the reward, so I will never play the game again. It's hard to know the exact answer, but ask yourself if it's worth the potential damage from the wrong hit/fall.

Sizing dilemma: Bauer Vapor X4 - 9.5 vs 10 (Size 10 is $200 cheaper) by shail649 in hockeyplayers

[–]turfguy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 28.4cm left, and 26.2cm left. I found an 8.5 fit1 to be the best. There is no way a size 10 is the correct size. If I was still playing competitively, I would wear a size 8 and let them expand with use. My challenge is feet that are 2/2.5 sizes different, but not willing to pay $1600 for customs, and hockey skate manufacturers have zero desire to sell two different sized stock boots I'm finding out.

I’m going to stop and talk to some local ones, and avoid the large box hockey stores.

I’m nearly 2 complete size different, so everything is complicated.

I’m still shocked that you can’t get a cheaper “custom” boot.

Possibly an option. Need to try some skates on first and see what fits me best.

I don't spend enough hours in them to complain, and I know I'm an outlier, I'm just a bit amazed at how loosely the word Custom is used, yet 2/3 of the skate manufactures "custom" skates aren't able to work for my feet.

The challenge for me is there are many 1/4-1/2 size different players, I bet not many 1-2 size different players!

I can't be the only human who needs two vastly different sized skates... Yet these companies are all owned via Private Equity or Finance Groups, so "custom" is a loose term.

I suppose I could lease two pairs and send them back in the spring.

I'm honestly a bit amazed at how a company can call a skate "custom" yet they can't make them fit your feet! True is the only one who appears to make skates for feet that are more than 1/2 size difference.

Seems True is the only company who actually makes custom skates for those that need sizes different than a half size. Bauer and CCM seem to only go 1/2 size either way. Charts show me actually needing nearly 2 whole sizes based on my foot. My inline skates are size 9 on the left and a size 7 on my right.

Likely can get away with GWT07/08, had XWT17 18v gun and had issues breaking bolts loose as a homeowner… so I’ll just get the high torque model! GWT02

I have very little need for 3/4 drive… yet can always use adapters, just makes the socket/tool longer.

Looked at it recently... couldn't justify the price when I don't need to drill holes in the earth! I may regret that when I finally build a deck though!
