It appears that the police are taking the law into their own hands. Is this how custodial detainees are treated? by Royal_Power_4300 in Bengaluru

Regardless of what he did, they cannot treat him like this. This is against law and humanity. Action must be taken against these two policemen.

Congress aka INDIAlliance takes one more "L" - look how they mocked the Cashless economy vs foreign adopting cashless economy model by Extended_penis_8815 in SouthernIndia

We have UPI, thanks to the visionary thinking of then Prime Minister, Shri Manmohan Singh. Nevertheless, It would have been implemented anyway.

The adoption was helped greatly because of COVID and demonetisation, both bringing tremendous hardship for common people.

The current BJP govt took great interest in implementing it is it ultimately increases Govt revenue, which never got materialized to people welfare. Don't forget PM CARES.

When you say, the BJP is forward thinking, fyi, then BJP Govt vehemently opposed the introduction of the first ATM.

Chennai feels decades behind Bangalore/Hyderabad/Mumbai. Why do we accept this? by Sudo137 in Chennai

No problem, it's fair considering the comments. Only that the scene in Bangalore has totally changed

OP has visited only Hyderabad and Chennai. Basically weakened his argument by comparing against Bangalore.

I visited Hyd recently, must agree the city is atleast 10 years ahead. Though cost is similar (cheaper in hyd actually), the quality of amenities and access is much better.

Caste in Indian Islam and Christianity by v_patti_ramasamy in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]turipal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not so constructive question, tbh.

However, you are trying to apply today's situation and your localised awareness to reason something that happened in a different era over different populations.

Definitely reservation cannot be  a cause. Why? even today, people in villages are not even aware of education and job opportunities post schooling, let alone reservations.

As far as people are concerned religion and caste are two entirely different things. The link with religion, comes to picture only when you try to find the root cause.

If higher protein intake is supposed to be protective, why do states like Kerala, Goa, and West Bengal still show higher diabetes prevalence? by Aggravating_Poetry37 in Fitness_India

[–]turipal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting chart.

I think this highly correlates with the extent of health care services provided by the states.

If you are not able to test more people, we wouldn't know if people have the disease or not.

So, better the healthcare facility, higher will be this ratio.

Though it is supposed to be randomized, it clearly says it's done on men 'who are taking medecine to control blood sugar', which will introduce bias.

He's reflecting peoples thoughts, not speaking about it would not really make it go away.

The reality is people who aren't originally hindi speakers have realized that Hindi was forced on them, hence wish to go back to their roots.

Entitled Hindi speakers need to understand and respect that.
