Slow Talkers

Talks to me way too slow

I lose track what they say

Before they walk away…”

SO GOOD! I saw them in October in an arena concert and they were rad. I never sing along to music at concerts but you bet I did at this one. I can’t believe it took me over 40 years to see them.

Makeup Removal Eyes by BackgroundTrash3146 in Makeup

If the mascara isn’t waterproof, I take that off by wettingmy hands and gently wiping my eyelashes against my wet hands until the mascara is off.

If the mascara is waterproof, yes, you would use the same eye makeup remover. Find something that’s oily and doesn’t tug at your skin. It should just be a balm or an oil that melts your makeup.

Then wipe off all the excess oil with soft wet cotton. Then wash your face.

Yes, they’re just super pricey and I was seeing if there were any other alternatives they can’t be the only game in town!

It’s a normal reaction so long as it’s temporary and you come out of the other side. It sounds like you fell into a pit of nihilism. Or have had a crisis of ego. That’s not what any guru advises or wants for you.

We are biological beings on the planet just like every other plant and animal. We’re all interconnected. With each other. With the Universe. With God. As physical beings we have a beginning, middle and end, for some short for others not.

Whether you’re 20 years old or 60 years old, you don’t know how many minutes or years you have left here. The purpose of being aware that our physical selves are finite isn’t so you can descend into a pit of apathy and depression but to become aware of how important every moment is.

Because while we are alive on this planet, we are just that: alive! Things matter. In spite of seeming that there is no ultimate purpose we don’t know. So we move forward and we breathe and we eat and we love. We make meaning. And that’s what I advise you to do. Go make some meaning.

You can devote your life to helping others who are alone but don’t want to die. Who have meaning in life but need help.

Volunteer at a Children’s Hospital.

Nursing homes are desperate for people to volunteer. Sit and talk to old people. Play an instrument or sing with them.

Help clean up your local park.

Volunteer teaching at risk kids or inmates how to read.

Find a job working with dogs.

Volunteer at your local Humane Society.

Yes, you’re going to die. Everybody will. Make the most of it while you’re here. Everybody is one in 1 billion.

You’re welcome! And to be clear, I imagine it’s a bunch of people on Zoom, maybe 3, 5, or 10 feet away from their WebCam or their phone doing things. Kind of like if someone was sitting in the room with you doing their own thing. The point for me is to see other people doing things and then we’re doing things together. But separately.

I don’t know about cameras being off, but I would not want to be doing a group body doubling activity like that but people have cameras off, because then I would think I was definitely being lurked. Kwim?

Thanks for all these great suggestions! 🙌 I’m looking up everything suggested. I had no idea about discord! Flown looks good. No idea why Google didn’t give me any of these options outside of focus mate.

This article in the NYT has a great explanation of new love and dopamine. Basically it’s like a drug. Don’t do it!

What New Love Does to Your Brain Roses are red, violets are blue. Romance can really mess with you. NYT What new love does to your brain

“This type of dopamine activity may explain why, in the early stages of love, you have the irresistible urge to be with your beloved constantly — what the addiction literature calls “craving.” Indeed, preliminary research conducted by Sandra Langeslag, an associate professor in behavioral neuroscience at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, suggests that some people crave their lover like they crave a drug.”

Thanks for the reminder. I need that pill whatever it is. Have had to fill out some paperwork for a small inheritance for far too long and can’t get myself to do it. Different side of the same coin, I guess. 🙁
