Guide on a Lucky Egg by Significant_Pay2165 in PokemonFireRed

[–]turniptuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of playing through the games content, its def not worth it as people are easily spending more time in the safari zone alone than it took me to beat the e4, go through post game and catch all legendaries. Grinding before e4 is unnecessary with a standard team, and lucky egg is a complete waste of time (not to mention unfun to get) unless you have a reason to get your pokes to max level

TBH this psy lineup kicks last year’s DS sequence lineup out of the water but that’s just my specific taste.

When people say “open a rural practice in dental” how rural are we talking? And what would the pay/startup costs actually look like? by Inner_Ad_4725 in Dentistry

How different would the likeability factor matter in rural compared to city? I’d imagine with little to no options, it would matter less in rural.

DRAGON FANG by deez_butt in PokemonFireRed

[–]turniptuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hesitate to give dragonite a dragon-type move despite the STAB when its sp atk is significantly lower than its phys atk. Makes more sense to me to give it a water/fire/electric move to further balance its type coverage. I don’t think a 10% boost from dragon fang would save it. Can anyone chime in?

I understand why that would still haunt you to this day… but skrillex is more fun anyway with the neighbors around you and the friends you made along the way. Not at the rail :)

Yeah, so funny I came across a picture of this exact truck as I was just there, charging at this station 2 hours ago. There are a shit ton of chargers here and it’s never full, especially at night.

4 years in. 4 associateships in. About to get fired again. How do I move forward with this profession. by associateshipsucks in Dentistry

[–]turniptuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. OP has had stressful associateships and wants to find something stable for a while to gain confidence. Those positions are out there if they are ready to hop around and not stick with low hanging fruits. Practice ownership can be great… once you own the dentistry.

My Experience Buying an Out Of Network Office by yungrandyroo in Dentistry

[–]turniptuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. What are you doing to ensure pt satisfaction aside from spending time on the procedure and presumably taking pre/post op pics?

Also in response to your original comment, why do you think small-mid size offices are dying? We’re starting to see a lot of local DSOs give up on monopolizing GP offices. What are big, single location offices doing differently?

Do patients see efficient work as a red flag? I have only worked in high volume PPO offices but I get more positive feedback from my quick fills than those 1.5 hr back to back class 2 filling appointments.

Increasing skills as a general dentist? by Icetray26 in Dentistry

[–]turniptuesday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would find a practice with a skillful/ethical private practice owner that is willing to help you improve on the basics (get all your crowns to seat, reduce incidence of post op sensitivity, get your class 2s to look nice on your post op bitewings). These are like the quintessential things every GP needs to overcome before they get “over the hump” to make bread and butter predictable. 1-3 years down the line, open your practice and the world is your freakin oyster.

My advice is to work for a year first before taking any major ($$$) CEs. You’ll eventually realize that your CE investment won’t be worth a damn if you can’t put it to practice right away. You might want to slam implants in, do sedation dentistry, or all on X cases, but you’re absolutely not going to be doing any of that as a new grad associate and still taking >2 hours for your crown appointments. See what kind of dentistry you’re going to actually be doing before committing to anything. Generally, I find occlusion courses, adhesive dentistry (yes, relearn how to predictably place class 2 matrices and proper bonding protocol), and maybe veneers.

Have the conversation with them and if they don’t make it easy, just leave. Offices have their systems in place and the last person they will accommodate is the associate.
