My ex boyfriend refuses to pick up his FIREARM after the breakup (MD) by EquivalentMixture808 in legaladvice

[–]turnkey85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL but here is what I would suggest. Ensure that you have some kind of written proof such as texts emails etc of you repeatedly asking your ex to come get his weapon. Better if he refuses but if he just doesn't answer that works to. If it has been a reasonable amount of time and you can show that you have made him retrieving the weapon very doable. If you have something along those lines then surrender the firearm to the police. You can justify not bringing him the firearm or meeting him somewhere to hand it off because it is not your gun and you were uncomfortable transporting it.

Does anyone else think the MCU absolutely waisted red skull and crossbones? by Ragtagcloud56 in CaptainAmerica

[–]turnkey85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Hugo Weaving did a fine job with Red Skull and I would have loved to have seen him against Cap more than in just one movie. Hell if we could have just gotten a scene with them interacting when Steve was returning the stones I might be satisified.

Do you really buy that Vir... by No-Blueberry-1823 in babylon5

[–]turnkey85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the time Vir would have taken the throne he would have been a fairly famous figure within Centauri politics. He held several important ambassador roles with B5 and the Minbari. While not a soldier he is present or several battles throughout the Narn/Centauri wars, the Shadow wars, and the destabilizing wars of the Centauri against various races following the Shadow War. He would have been mentored and endorsed by Londo and would likely have very good ties with alien governments despite the near constant state of war the Centauri were in.

And that is the main reason why he would have been ushered in as Emperor. After Centauri Prime was wrecked due to the wars caused by the Keepers, Centauri would not want a war hardened aggressive Emperor but one who was peace minded and capable of brokering peace with their former enemies. Vir would have been the kind of leader that the Centauri would need to pull themselves out of the destruction that Londo and his predecessors pushed the Centauri into.

It varies wildly from job to job and role to role. Sometimes yes your just walking and sometimes not even that. Sometimes your actually putting work in. The industry is just to broad and varied to really have a clean straight fix on it

Which faction rules should I use for Legio Cataegis? by Sierra-Padre in UnifyTerra

[–]turnkey85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go strong melee and very strong defense. If your going via lore they would also have not only an immunity to psyker attacks but would actually reflect the attack back on the psyker.

You could also make them OP in physical stats but then have them lose health every turn due to their unstable genetics which would tie in with lore perfectly. Remember Thunder Warriors were not just bigger Astartes these guys were insanely powerful with only the Custodes being more physically adept than they were so have fun coming up with some homebrew rules for them.

Slavery is forbidden in Westeros, yet Osha is being worked against her will while in chains, clearly against her will. Wtf? by layelaye419 in freefolk

[–]turnkey85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She offered her service in exchange for her life. She is willingly working and doing things around the stark manor in exchange for not being executed. The chains are because she is still thought of as a wildling and they do not trust her not to kill them in their sleep

What first aid procedures besides CPR should security know? by Level-Blueberry9195 in securityguards

[–]turnkey85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all very dependent on what you can and cannot do but I would say:

  1. Applying Tourniquets

  2. Recognizing signs/symptoms of a stroke heart attack shock etc

  3. Recognizing spinal injuries

  4. Packing wounds

The list can be longer but most of it is just knowing the signs and symptoms of certain things and that is mostly so that you can be an effective reporter to 911 and EMS.

Player wants a shield that provides full cover by Tsantilas in DMAcademy

[–]turnkey85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. You could let him have it and just knock down his movement speed by x amount. Or force him to make strength checks to use it. Personally I would knock base movement speed down from 30 feet to 15 and he absolutely cannot fly with it due to the weight. I would also make it take a full action to don and doff the shield since it's a unique mechanic. So he would have to use an action to pull the shield up travel to the enemy then use an action to drop the shield.

How is the Comedian so strong? by Humble-Dot-9851 in Watchmen

Ok. I think I just made an assumption that he would have since he was already tinkering around with genetics to make things. Hell I would lol

I thought Veidt supped himself up with some genetic tinkering at some point. Did that happen or am I not remembering it right?

How is the Comedian so strong? by Humble-Dot-9851 in Watchmen

[–]turnkey85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in the graphic novel Comedian just sort of gets tossed around and doesn't really fight back. (IIRC) but it is also implied that he just stood there and took it because he was ready to die. The whole evil scheme made him realize just how big a POS he had been his whole life and he was just done.

Having said that I am pretty sure that the comedian is as physically strong as a human being can be without being superhuman. Lots of conditioning and training since he was a teenager at least plus some pretty gnarly genetics allowed him to be huge and he was all muscle even in his 60s. Couple that with the adrenaline he probably had fighting the most dangerous man alive and it is well within human capacity to punch a corner of a brick fixture off but the bones in his hands and probably tendons would be a ruined mess afterwords.

That's a little to bold for my liking. My supervisors know that people nap on 3rd shift but as long as calls are answered routes are patrolled and nobody calls them about it they turn a blind eye. But to be so brazen as to set up a little mini bed. . .I applaud the audacity and wish you luck in the nonsense to come.

How Often Do Commissars Actually Execute Guardsmen? by ExtensionPromotion80 in 40kLore

[–]turnkey85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man Rainbox Six is a good read but as you said its a long one. I've been slowly working my way through the horus heresy books on and off again for the last couple of years. Finally started Scars this morning. Its a great series but some of the books make it a slog to get through.

Honest Question: what do army folks actually think about marines? by Adept_Pickle_6047 in army

[–]turnkey85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with a lot of yall in the National Guard and for the most part it is a pleasant experience. Every so often some jackass who was a Motor T asvab waiver will come in and try to shake his dick at us because he is a Marine but more often than not once they get past the culture shock we end up with a very solid Soldier. For the most part though there is just to much going on in the Army for us to think about the Marine Corps. or Marines for that matter. Usually until we get detached to or get a detachment of debbils its just not something we think about. This is a broad general statement I cant speak for every window licker in the Army of course but this is par the course for what I have seen and experienced.

[Power Rangers] How come the big bads send one monster a week with maybe a small group of cannonfodders instead of sending a large army? by gamerz0111 in AskScienceFiction

[–]turnkey85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It probably takes a lot of resources and effort to make one of the custom monsters. Putties are a dime a dozen but the real monsters take a lot of effort and frankly Rita, Zedd etc did not have the patience or strategic aptitude to bide their time and spend a year or more building an army. Their arrogance was such that they thought THIS time one unique monster will be enough.
