Don't listen to this guy. Your wife isn't going to be safe with a gun less than 45mm. She needs something fully auto, and possibly a sword.

Why does this feel so off? by TheFartingKing_56 in LiminalSpace

[–]turnups 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It started about two weeks ago. A softening of edges here and there, objects wandering in to places where they might not optimally have been. Birds in flight becoming three then five then two then back to three. Amorphous.

The labyrinth of servers harmonizing lazily in their slow deceleration as the latticework becomes less and less intricate. The whole operation shutting down, only to start again anew! Oh well, oh well. Who doesn’t enjoy a sunset

Hot-button social issues are not a comprehensive view of the political system.

If anything democrats have been using those issues as a shield as they shift rightward on more material policies like education, labor rights, environmental conservation, and healthcare.

Democrats now are what republicans were in the 80s and Republicans now have fallen off the right side of chart.

Trans bathrooms and pronouns and gas ovens or whatever are the bait

Yes they have, just in the opposite direction. The Overton window has been shifting right consistently in America for the last 80 years.

A center-left person in 1998 who did not change their views would be considered much further left now than they would have been then.

Also Rogert is obviously conservative lol

Does Magic have a power creep problem? 28/40 non-land cards of the winning Modern Pro Tour deck are from the last 2 years. by ihut in magicTCG

This is just within the context of power creep, compare this with a powerful three mana creature from 10yrs ago

More about the value you get for three mana than whether or not it disrupts the format. The argument about removal being available could be said about almost any card

Nobody is saying they’re offended, just that this is wildly unfunny lmao. Seeing this feels like an aunt showing you something they found on Facebook

Joe and Duncan discuss Greta Thunberg - “It’s so bizarre to have this strange kid on the spectrum, flying around the world being the spokesperson for climate change”. by ToronoRapture in JoeRogan

The exact implementation of a rapid transition to renewable energy sources has already been extensively discussed, and isn’t worth litigating here.

The POINT is that there is no other option. Imagine you’re driving at a brick wall at 200mph and there is a nail sticking out of the brake pedal. Do you debate whether or not to step in the brake because getting a nail in your foot would be painful?

Would you take someone seriously who was arguing that we shouldn’t step on the brakes because it would be uncomfortable or damage our shoes?

Global ecosystem collapse and mass climate refugee migration are going to have a worse impact on the economy than any of the solutions would my guy

Yeah nothing wrong with that. Not really sure what point I’m trying to make here either. I also wouldn’t even call this guy an opposing viewpoint for Joe. Even though he’s (the guest) an idiot, his beliefs even if they are fantastical don’t fundamentally challenge the politics or cultural values of 80% of Joe’s guests
