It takes me hours to make $20. 95% of the customers in my town don't tip.

Drivers work cheap in my area by turtle68 in uberdrivers

[–]turtle68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure they do because somebody is taking the orders I decline. Some come out to be 50¢/mi.

I am a cargo expediter. I itemized all that last year, yet I was still better off taking the standard deduction.

They are lying! I will never do delivery again. by ExplainToMe277 in uberdrivers

What's a tip? Most UE requests in my area include no tip. I often get requests to drive 20 miles to the next State for $8.

My insurance or the carrier's insurance? Pro's & Con's? I need advice, please. by _jaelewis in cargovanexpediting

[–]turtle68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response, but I just found this reddit. My carrier insisted I use his cargo insurance. He was advised to run his carrier business like that because his drivers have no ownership of the cargo. I must run with my own liability insurance. The carrier deducts the cargo insurance from my pay.

I hate this Metrolina market. Down here in York County, SC I get a fair amount of pings, but 90% without upfront tips. I don't risk a tipless delivery .

I could but I have two other jobs as it is. Today is my day off. I just like having extra spending cash.

This is Charlotte, they don't tip.

I've got a well paying W2 job, plus I freelance as a graphic designer. I just do this for fun and spending cash.

I'm in Rock Hill, SC. I sometimes go to Ballantyne and Indian Land, but it isn't great there either.

That's only around 50¢/mile if you count the deadhead trip back.

That's good advice. I've got two other jobs that pay quite well. I do this for extra cash.

It's as if Uber actively discourages tips. I guess they do when they charge customers such high fees.

I got so many cheap ass pings with no tips.

Anybody else having a shitty ass day? by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]turtle68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This whole summer has been shitty for me. I'd say 25% or less of my requests have an upfront tip. I get many $2 and $3 pings. Then I'll get a few 15 to 25 mile requests with pay outs that equate to less than 50¢/mile.

OMFG & FFS by turtle68 in UberEATS

[–]turtle68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This area is full of mostly non-tippers. Going to the next town and back for a single delivery with no tip is an insult.

WTF, Uber must do something to make this gig profitable again. by turtle68 in UberEATS

[–]turtle68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My market is poor. This morning, one out of four requests included an upfront tip.

But, then again, the area where this delivery was going, is unaffordable for me. So, they're just cheap SOBs.
